MI-35 MI-28NM short listed in Bangladesh army procurement list. attack helicopter

.
it a bdmilitary fb link

but if true then i would choose mi28

as mi35 is good but we have the mi17 doing the same thing
If you are smart than go for both MI-35 for Special Forces and MI-28 as counter attack helicopters

The Kazan Ansat is a Russian light, multipurpose helicopter manufactured by Kazan Helicopters. We are buying initially 6 of them.

Vai, those helis are coming from Russia not China. So, no soft loan, pure cash. And Bangladesh isnt a cash rich country.

Mi-28 is better!
Hey, what about Chinese attack helicopter?
well government should try to buy mix helicopter from Russia and CHina
According to this article Bangladesh Army has decided to purchase Mi-35 helicopters.

mi-28 is better...go for it

These 8 attack helicopters are ordered by the Army not Air force . Army won't operate a large number of attack helicopters . In that case MI-35 makes sense. BAF would go for better firepower.

Army is leading here, I think.... Mi-171Sh order gives that indication.... also, don't forget the C-295 order by the Army.... that would be probably for airborne operations..... Army probably wants to create self-sufficient airborne forces with own air assets.... that seems like a very advanced thought....

and Mi-35 doesn't make sense here with Mi-171Sh already in service and more on the way.... besides, Mi-35 is basically a development of Mi-24 design, which is pretty concept (attack & light transport) now.... what would 8 soldiers do?..... it has to be able to carry more soldiers to make an impact.....

Mi-28 is a heavy anti-armor helicopter, which seems like a strong step towards modernizing the Army.... a strong nation requires bold thoughts, not outdated thoughts....

Finally we are getting some dedicated attack helos. Mi-28NM will be a huge complement to the armour regiments while mi35 will be very useful for commando ops and fighting insurgency in the hills. Lets see what our army choses to fit their doctorine

Right.
If the chops are used on anti-guerilla warfare , Mi-35 would be more suitable .
On the contrary, the MI-28NE is more powerful when used to anti tanks.

fighting internally is for a weak state fighting with itself..... Bangladesh is beyond that now....
CHT insurgency doesn't rank high today.... its been cut to pieces mostly.... a revival is being tried from the other side of the border, but that is likely to fail too.... no need to waste money on Mi-35..... it would be a distraction from spending behind Mi-28, which would be the symbol a of strong state.... siphoning off money to Mi-35 from Mi-28 is not Bangladesh's plan, someone else's....

Well i agree with you on that point, but still majority of BA operational activities in bd centre around fighting separatist and extremists. Raids on militant dens in forested areas are a major part of army's operations. Plus, we shouldnt purchase weapons for status symbol, we should purchase them according to our operational needs as well as our doctrine.

IMO the mi 35 isnt a bad choice for BD army, it is a capable attack heli which has been tried and tested in various combat and operational situations by many strong/capable militaries. It has a decent anti-armour capability and had major improvements over the years. I have no beef with mi28 but it would be unwise to write it off, without giving it a chance.
