'Members' surprised by Saudi anti-terror coalition plan

Didn't the Saudi Crown Prince pull a similar stunt when he was building a "coalition" for Yemen war?

yes, he tried.....but refusals.........who will take this 3o year old seriously. King Sulman kicked out all experience people . He is handling his throne with inexperience son. Nobody takes him serious, he started Yemen war from nowhere. King Abdullah started the peace dialogue in Yemen and he started war.....now been stuck there over year and nothing happened.

Not really.

Here is what Turkey is saying: Foreign Ministry says Saudi-led alliance against terrorism not to be military based - Daily Sabah

Basically Turkey is saying this is not a military alliance, just a big mouth Saudi PR move (with no teeth in the mouth of course).
I wouldn't speak that fast, I am neither with it nor against it at the moment.

''When asked to provide details of the military operations, Bilgiç said: "I'd like to specifically stress that this alliance is not a military force. The formation of a military force is currently not on the agenda of the alliance. The details to the cooperation of the alliance and its results will soon be revealed as we will provide information regarding it." Underlining that Turkey will provide all necessary support to combat terrorism Bilgiç, said.

He said: "The proposed coalition has a number of sides to it, including military, intelligence cooperation and support while the main aim of these Islamic countries is especially to be the voice against those who are trying to link Islam with terrorism." Emphasizing that talks on the alliance are still fresh, Bilgiç said technical details as well as information on the scope of the operations will be clearer in the upcoming days and will be announced.''

Though it's all fun to see Iranian members talking about it :D

Why should other non-Arabic muslim countries fight a war that was started by radical Wahabism that originated in Saudi Arabia? If there are to be military boots on the ground; they should be from Saudi and Qatar.

Indonesian and Pakistani lives should not be shed for them.

That is a good question, to which I have no answer.

The irony is, every terror attack you hear about from Paris to Peshawar are being perpetrated by the Takfiris who get their financial and ideological support from Saudi Arabia. Just days ago a Takfiri group in Pakistan massacred people in a market.

And now, Saudi Arabia wants to lead a paper coalition combating terror. If it was not so tragic, this would have made for a good joke.

You completely missed the point in Turkish announcement. Just by bolding a word here and another there, you are only making fun of yourself.

The terrorists that hit California recently were influenced by radical Wahabism; the wife was indoctrinated in Saudi Arabia.

Dangerous, dangerous.

As time passes by this coalition is becoming a joke. First they didn't inform nations and caught them by surprise... A simple statement saying that the founding members of this coalition are this and this and islamic nations with great militaries are more than welcome to join this coalition and it will have the following definition of attack on sovereign nation, terrorism e.t.c

It was a careless announcement of a coalition where nothing was highlighted and no definitions were given. Not even how such wars will be justified in accordance to the UN.

Now turkey is claiming that this military coalition is in fact not military and encompasses other things as well making it alot like the OIC.

Our participation must be decided after we see their definition and their clauses which will give us a clear picture of what the Saudis are demanding. After that we should negotiate strong deals favorable to our cause for participation. For example loads and loads of money to cut our foreign debt with oil supply. Very similar to Egypt deals.

So far its been highly unimpressive.

What the Turks are saying is correct. They are reacting intelligently to the possibility of an alliance to combat terrorism.

We are only at awe at the way Prince Mohammad announced it. He claimed that it was a done deal and that he issued a statement from the coalition itself.

When your government says that talks are fresh and details are being worked out, this is contradictory to the press conference.

Obviously, Turkey is a democracy and knows that decisions aren't made in 5 minutes. In Saudi, royalty are used to making a decision and have it followed without any question. The idea that there needs to be discussions before making an announcement doesn't enter Prince Mohammad's mind.

Well, I have seen it in Turkish so I know what I am talking about.
I am not making fun of you people, I don't have to, you people are already here (on topic) fun talking about it and with such response as in your example (post) :D
