HÀ NỘI — Taiwanese Pegatron Corp, a major manufacturing partner of Apple, Microsoft and Sony, will add US$101 million to its investment in Việt Nam, reported Reuters.
The investment in Pegatron’s Việt Nam subsidiary would be for the production and sales of computers and peripheral equipment, communication equipment and electronic components, said the Taiwan Economy Ministry’s investment commission.
The Taiwanese company has given no further details and did not immediately respond to a request for comment by Reuters.
Previously, in September 2020, Pegatron was looking to invest $1 billion in three phases in production facilities in areas like computing, communications and consumer electronics in the country.
The company is best known as a major supplier to Apple, along with Taiwan's Foxconn and Wistron Corp. Pegatron is one of the three largest iPhone manufacturers in China and India.
In its 2020 annual report, Pegatron also mentioned continuing to expand its production facilities to Việt Nam and India to meet drastic changes in the supply chain. — VNS

But u cant deny that without help from JP-US in 1979, then CN GDP per capita would still below 200 USD per year.

Same goes to Vietnam can we say Vietnam is growing now because it get help from Asean, China, South Korea and etc. Answer is no my friend business is a win win situation. If your terminology is correct then can we deny Vietnam late progress owes to the mentioned countries? Answer is no.

help? Not much from them in the beginning. China just needed USA to life the sanction on China. Most foreign investment were actually from oversea Chinese, Hongkong, southeast Asia, Taiwan. When China is clearly a good place for business, then USA started to jump in.
US and Japan helped India more but they could turn India into another China. No country can develop without her own people and governments' effects.

I think it is unlikely. China has adopted a radical strategy to reduce carbon emissions. The manufacturing industries in Vietnam and India are low-tech, and China does not need to keep these. China will leave energy to industries that need it, such as aerospace and semiconductors. China will gradually disperse the industrial chain to the Belt and Road countries. Large congresses like Iran have access to more complete industries. And relatively small countries will occupy a small part of the industrial chain. China only needs to retain the industries that meet China's domestic needs, and do a good job in technical support and coordinated management of the Belt and Road countries.

Iran is a lost case. Chinese are hardcore capitalists they will press the last drop out of Iran like a citrus and throw into next trash bin. Believing into China warm heart is very naive. Oh you come from China? Good for you.
