1) The current DM has already said that it was Antony's note on the CNC's report that effectively killed the MMRCA in its current formSo easy to forget the days when Antony took over. People have forgotten that it's not only his image but the image of the entire department that he has cleaned up. And what are his 'failures'? Rafale 'took too long'?
Is it no true that a large group of acquisitions happened within time under him? the Poseidon, the Hercules, Large T 90 deals, FGFA- all of these were also managed by him. Then how come he is suddenly 'ineffective'? The Rafale competition itself was not disputed and the current decision is far worse than any that he would have given.
2) Antony ignored every opportunity he was presented with to clear the RSH deal which could have been cleared if he used his discretion- this move HAS got pilots killed there is simply no two ways about it.
3) His indecision lead to the delay in the procurement S-70B
4) His indecision lead to the delay in procurement of new Arty guns
6) there are countless other deals his self-serving "halt all deals for an indefinite period on the mere sniff of wrongdoing" policy has stalled- this is now a widely accepted fact. The new DM is saying it, defence analysts are saying it, even former servicemen are saying it.
He cleared a few deals that were low hanging fruit-so what? Am I meant to praise him for doing his damn job a few times?? Any deal that required even the slightest bit of leadership or decisiveness or integrity he cast aside, to defend a man who has shown he holds no regard for his country or its military is mind-boggling @Guynextdoor2. Let's not make this about politics, if a BJP, AAP or martian had done the same things he had I would be equally as outraged.
Antony is a self-serving and despicable human being (and I don't use these terms lightly) who doesn't deserve to be forgiven, he has blood on his hands.
