Tokyo, Jul 24: Manmohan Singh led UPA government may fall anytime and thus the general election may take place anytime in India, hinted Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi while interacting with media personnel in Japan on Monday, Jul 23.
Modi visited Japan to attend Investment Seminar of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) amid the violence at Maruti plant at Manesar. It is believed that Modi's main agenda behind his Japan tour was to attract Japanese investment in India, especially in Gujarat.
While exchanging his views on the global economy and the problem in India, Modi attacked UPA government saying that Manmohan Singh's government has been facing several internal disputes.
The Gujarat CM also claimed that general election in India, which is scheduled to be held in 2014, may occur anytime and if such things happen, thenthe BJP led NDA government will retain its power in the centre.
Modi remained evasive on the question of him being projected by some in the BJP as the party's prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 general election,saying he was committed to his task towards his state.
"I am committed to Gujarat. I am committed to the 60 million people of Gujarat. They have given me the responsibility. I will have to fulfil that," said the CM.
Asked directly as to what he would do for the people if he became the Prime Minister, Modi responded, "In politics, ifsand buts have no place." His reply remained the same even when pressed further. "What I have told you is that ifs and buts have no place in politics," he repeated.
Modi left for Japan on Jul 22 on a four-day tour in response to an invitation from the Government of Japan. It is perhaps for the first time that the Japanese government has invited a Chief Minister of a state of any country to visit the country.
Japan was a partner country in the two previous editions of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit, the flagship event held in the state every two years.The Japanese delegation was clearly impressed by the all-round development of the state.
Gujarat occupies maximum land area in the ongoing inter-state Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project which has been undertaken by India in collaboration with Japan.
Modi is expected to meet Maruti Suzuki Corporation Managing Director Shinzo Nakanishi. His visit will be in the wake of the recent violence at Maruti Suzuki'splant at Manesar in Haryana and from there, he will take the Bullet Train to Nagoya to get a first-hand feel of the high-speed ride.

Manmohan Singh govt can fall anytime , ofcourse they would why wont they ?... their belly is so full of curropt money they would trip n fall ... they ought to fall .... moreover all the parties within UPA which have collectively stolen nations wealth have to pretend as if they are against each others fight the election and come back together to form UPA3 isnt it... so it makes all the reason for MMS govt would fall

The same NCPs, the same Mulayams , the same Mayas, the same Mayawatis, the same Karunanidhis would pretend as if they are fighting against congress in 2014 elections and once elections are over they would all join together to loot the money once more

We can just hope that MMS govt falls and Modi led BJP govt comes to power and not let madamji n prince charming ruin our country further !

Wow, an Indian politician who says something sensible! An Indian politician who can keep his mouth closed instead of boasting!

Can the indian democratic system not determine their leader? If the people running india is so terrible then why not organize a mass protest and have them thrown out and then bring in someone the majority want?
