Man grows 1,360-acre forest in India...by himself

That's a great idea... Wonder how he got the seeds... People like this guy are just awesome... we need more of them..

If there is a common heaven people over the world believe in, then this man is surely headed for it.
His contribution is potentially helping millions of people live better in a small way.

Really inspiring person this man is and needs more encouragement for making our country greener.

Did he grow this in the subtropics? If so that is a great achievement and something Pakistan should replicate.Tbh growing in arid land is also possible like what Israel is doing, we just need the goverment to invest.

Yes, he have converted barren land into fertile and then converted it into the forest.

The Times of India have published a article on him few months back where he was saying that after a natural calamity he was seeing lots of dead animals and he cried over their dead bodies.

Then he made a pledge to do something for them.

He transferred the ants from his village for soil conversion. Ants used to bite his bare hands but he don't move from his pledge then he planted plants and trees that can grow on barren lands.

And slowly and steadily he have made a huge forest single handily.

- And the most important thing is that he is a poor man he have done this without any govt. or private or international help or money. :woot:

- He have not marred just to devote himself full time for his forest.

- Power of humanity, what a single man is capable of

Yes he will surely get it he is a deserving man.

In Hinduism its said that a tree is = children, if someone don't have a kid after Marriage he should plant a tree and take care of it as his/her own kid only then he can get rid of his forefathers obligation and the obligation towards the society..

According to Hindu religious texts, Planting of a tree is greater then doing hundreds of pilgrimage.

bloody hell , if there were any green equivalents to the Noble , he should get it . brilliant !!!!

J Paul Getti Awards- Only three Indian person/Organisation have received so far- Salim Ali , the famous ornithologist in 1975 and West Bengal Forest Protection Committee in 1992 and K Ullas Karanath in 2007,

Exactly.

No excuses.
No "government should do it".

Just his own dedication.
Excellent work.
As they say, "it's better to light a candle than to curse the darkness".
