If it makes you feel better although christian holidays are not national holidays but all Christians are allowed to vacations on these events even those employed by Government and army.Additionally those who are army employees are given gifts from the institution.

Sigh. Its always been a national holiday. The 25th of December, both for being a Jinnah's birthday and Christmas.

Christians are authorised three days off; 24th, 25th and 26th. Everyone else just the 25th.

There are two types of Holidays National and Public.

National Holidays are celeberated when there is a significance for Nation in Particular i.e.Independence day.
Public Holidays are celeberated whenthere is significance to masses like religous holidays.

Both are Recognised.
