Even accounting certain anti incumbency NDA should have a comfortable majority In 2019.
Call me a pessimist, but I wouldn't be so sure. Modi has enough enemies within NDA, not even counting the opposition, who would like nothing more than seeing Modi dragged through the streets, should he face defeat.
Modi knows very well that he is riding a tiger, and can't afford to lose - ever. But I see battle fatigue setting in at the upper echelons of BJP - looking at their handling of certain issues over the last couple of years.
Take Jallikattu protests for example. It was a tailor-made issue for BJP that would have given them a foothold in TN politics. Instead, they fcuked it up so badly, for whatever technicality, that precious little goodwill that they had among Tamilians, turned into outright hostility.
Their recent media management has also been found merely reacting to opposition's narrative rather than create their own.
Why is it that when so-called rationalists and journalists (it is another matter that
their rationalism was limited only to Hinduism for some strange reason) were murdered in Congress-ruled Karnataka, the protests were held in Delhi? Isn't law & order a state subject? Why isn't BJP countering this propaganda for what it really is?
Why doesn't BJP make efforts to refresh memories of the voters, on a regular basis, of the good old days of mega scams of UPA1 and 2? Why isn't BJP throwing kitchen sink at that bastard
Mallya, drag him by his balls and make him pay for the free lunches that he actually obtained from UPA governments?
Particularly, their handling of the media after Demonetization and GST has been disastrous even if their intentions have been godly.
The opposition wants to defeat Modi in his own game by building the narrative that he has been a disaster when it came to handling of the economy.
It would be game up for Modi if he doesn't counter it effectively.
