Maharashtra: Beaten, forced to wave saffron,MUSLIM cop says his force let him down

Utter rubbish. If he defied the uniform code of the MH police - it is upto the police to pull him up. Sikh cops wear turbans. Hindu cops have tilaks. And how do you define an Islamic beard? What part of it is shameful??????? That a cop was beaten up by a lynch mob for doing his duty. He is not playing the victim card. He is in the freaking hospital. You maybe okay with India rapidly becoming a banana republic with scant regard for law and order. I am not.

Sikh cops have got exception since Colonial times and the Indian govt. has continued this privilege.

Muslims cops did not have that privilege back then and and not now. Even Tilaks are banned by police rules.

Let us not play games here  .... anyone who took a look at him would know he was a muslim cop. A Beard on a cop ? :cheesy: .... Heena on that beard ? :cheesy: It does not get any more obvious that that.

That Cop was NOT doing his duty. His duty told him to shave off his beard. Once you do not follow the rules yourself, what moral right do you have to ask others to follow the rules ?

He is in that hospital because he got what was coming to him. Not because of any act of great courage or doing his duty.

Finally spare me the fake tears for "law and order". 90% of cops in India are corrupt and encounter killings are the maximum in Maharashtra. That is what makes it a banana republic, not a mob making a cop carry a flag.

Yawn. Did Shivaji come in your dreams and tell you that? Like God spoke directly to George Bush?

LOL..... its clear that you have no knowledge of history  ....... stop wasting my time. I am not giving free history tutorials to every idiot who come to pdf.

LOL - of course a majority of cops are corrupt. So let's just beat up all of them if they happen to offend our sensibilities. Especially if he subscribes to a religion which is not mine. So logical. How old are you? 10? Clearly, neither do you know history nor do you have a grasp of the constitution of India. It is ok. Or its culture. I am fine with giving a free lesson or two to the needy and the morons. It is my good deed for the day.

Looks like the state machinery does not agree with the mob mentality.

Your good deed should be to educate yourself in history of Hindavi Swaraj. It will help you understand the history of India.

This cop was not beaten up for being corrupt, he was beaten up for being communal towards Hindus.

Corruption in India attracts legal action (if any) however communal incidents in India attracts social action.

This is because corruption is due to greed which everybody has and is seen as a lesser evil, however communal action is due to HATE which is seen as a greater evil.

Of course if you had a higher intelligence you would have figured it out. But I guess your prejudice makes you blind.

LOL - let me get this right. You are condoning both - the act of the mob as well as the action of the state machinery against the mob? Hahahaha - looks like we have a Rahul Gandhi clone in our midst.

It would be nice if you educated yourself with facts instead of ranting and sullying the name of one of India's finest rulers. Two cops were doing their duty and preventing a communal incident in a sensitive area. One was a Hindu, one was a Muslim. The Hindu was beaten and let go. The Muslim was beaten and made to wave a saffron flag and paraded in the village. If you had an iota of common sense - you would see that this is not only a flagrant violation of his constitutional rights but also downright criminal behavior. The fact that you are actually condoning this makes you no different from the Taliban. Which kinda makes sense given your level of intellect. Or understanding of Indian and Hindu history and culture. Keep it up.

IT is your prejudiced mind that makes you think anyone condones violence. It is another demonstration of your narrow view and frustration.

But I don't condemn it either.

When the police have failed to take action against an communal Cop, the mob did it. In my book its case closed.

Action Reaction.

The muslim cop was beaten and paraded because that cop position himself as a Muslim who wanted to prevent the Hindus from putting up Shivaji's flag. Not as a cop who was doing his job.

The Only crime here was beating a cop, making him wave a saffron flag is not a crime.

I don't need your "Certificate" of "secularism" jackoff  ....... you might want to try that trick with someone who gives a $hit about you. Good to see the "seculars" back to using Godwins laws

Giveng a bribe is a crime too, so is telling a lie, not paying your taxes, urinating on the street, jaywalking,.. ........ OMG looks like most Indians are "Taliban' and have "criminal behaviour"

I guess you need to print a lot more certificates.

Sorry, I disagree... If you want to put a flag somewhere, take due permission, follow the required process and do whatever, If a cop is being a dik, then complain to his superiors, you just cannot beat a cop and parade him around. Shivaji maharaj also stood for justice, and equality, don't ignore that part dear.

Shivaji stood for freedom of Hindus from Islamic Rule. Did YOU know that ? He fought for Hindavi Swaraj. His kingdom was called Hindu Samrajya.

But as you said, let us not confuse issues here.

The Mob did not see a Cop, they saw an Muslim Cop trying to deny Hindus freedom to host Shivaji's flag. Something Shivaji fought for. See the Irony ?

You know WHY they saw a "muslim cop" ? Because the cop wanted to show everybody that he was not just a Cop, he was a Muslim Cop. His wish was granted. He just learnt that you can't have the cake and eat it too.

The Only idiot I see here is the cop who decided to have double standards, one for himself, another for the Mob.

The people in the Mob did what Shivaji would have done. Acted against injustice. Shivajji would be proud.

Do the muslim elements in the police force think they have a free pass to grow beard and defy service rules ?

You do not want to follow rules, defy convention, brandish your religion in a "sensitive area" and then play the victim card ?

If that area was "sensitive" enough that even a flag cannot be put up, then how come he was walking around with IN YOUR FACE Islamic beard ? Even though Maharashtra police force service rules forbid it ?

What's Islamic about a beard?! Didnt Shivaji sport a beard, someone revered by the same attackers ?!

Besides, the police authority allowed the beard(clearly) since he was posted there by the Police...why are you questioning this?

Secondly, take the beard and the pics out of the equation, take the muslim angle out as well...do you truly believe what these people did was right?!
A cop was doing his duty...thats about it!

I whole heartedly support the cop and hope the perps are brought to justice...

When the police have failed to take action against an communal Cop, the mob did it. .

How did you come to the conclusion that the cop was communal? Can you get into that?
Sporting a beard does not make one communal..
I sport a beard...Im non religious...your beard argument is standing on weak ground.

LOL - you do realize you need to mention the Nazis to invoke Godwin's law. Oh well - another little bit of education for you.

You are right about one thing - you aren't getting any certificates from me. Or from anyone else. LOL. Like ever. It is amusing that you can't distinguish between a civic nuisance - like urinating on the street and a lynch mob beating up a citizen. Hahahaha. You have access to the Internet. Look it up. It will be educational. P.S. You really need it.

If you believe that hindus should be allowed to put up a flag as and when they choose, then Im sorry but we then have no moral right to object to any muslim from Kashmir to Kaniyakumari raising any flags at their point and place of choosing...
Whether it be the islamic flag or even the Pakistani flag...

So in maharashtra we cannot celebrate shivaji jayanti ?

Sure you can...just keep your mitts to yourself and dont engage in criminal behavior! simple!

A cop getting beaten black and blue by thugs, and insult of Shivaji Maharaj's Flag, by idiots who do not know what Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj stood for.
Lets not conflate issues, if the mob wanted to do something and a cop disagreed they have other means to to amicably solve the issue, but beating a cop is absolutely not acceptable. In the process they have tarnished the flag of the greatest leader this nation has ever seen. Do not associate Shivaji Maharaj and his great name with such idiots, who would corner and beat an outnumbered man, just out of a disagreement.
You need to understand that Muslims do worse to Police and others in Muslim dominated areas and during their rallies. So don't blame them entirely.Atleast they didn't burn Police station or vandalize Shops, indulge in arson, molest women as in Malda riots. Hold the mirror to Muslims too.Why should we follow rules, when others don't? did we take a contract of following and enforcing rules when others dont?

You nailed it. Actually, Muslims do freely fly green flags all over Bombay on numerous occasions. You do see both Shiv Sena and MNS fly their flags too. What's the fuss? There has to be some reason why the flag was not allowed to be flown in a sensitive area. Just respect the decision of the authorities and move on. If you think the cop is being unfair - just complain to his superior.
