Lord Hanuman to head management school

Shameless marketing!

Its actually kind of abusive to their God how they are milking his name for some cash and taking everyone for a ride.

Lol, this puts a twist of sending someone to the principles office. Would only require killing the student :P

:) again its the same your terrorist my freedom fighter, my freedom fighter is your terrorist

There are times when one must use logic and post.

I do not in any way subscribe to such ploys used by educational institutes since they smack of stupidity.

Indeed it is shameful marketing.

But that would not attract any students if the faculty is equally stupid.

Sir it must be a tier 4 school sir , indeed it will attract students from rural areas, innocent lads who spend their fathers entire life savings in the hope of receiving quality eucation from such dumb wits

Maybe you are right and thus education has become a lucrative business!!

Anyone with money, opens up a school or college!

I am glad that they were not stupid enough to name it Lord Hanuman College or Saint Hanuman's in the mode of St Stephens!!

You can always bank on Jana to get these ''scoops'' for us. I find it interesting journalism, though I prefer serious narratives to the gossip and the sensational journalism that seems to attract the new lot of journalists.

It takes immense knowledge to churn out serious journalism. Gossip can be churned out by anyone who can hold a pen! Education and knowledge not required!

I don't know it works pretty well amongst Christians and Muslims. We all know Iqra University in Punjab's main marketing is based upon its "Deeni Taleem".

In America so many Christian Colleges are springing up attracting the conservative right of society.

In UAE too, almost every other Christian kid ends up going to St. Mary's school.

If they did name it as Lord Hanuman College or Saint Hanuman's in the mode of St Stephens it would not have that much harm instead of having some imaginery person as chairman of the college.

names dont matter but the people working in an institute do.

:) You know brigadier even after retiring having a good hold of many things you still lack courage to see faults with your own people and ills of your society.

First of All the news was published by Indian newspaper. Do you know why ????
Beacuse Journalism dosnt means always talking about wars or polictics.

One of the qualities of a news also include human intrest. This news is of human intrest on two counts.

1. It is realy amazing and stupid even for the people of the same faith to have someone as chairman of a college or a university that too awards Engineering degrees.
How on earth someone ( a phenomenon) will solve the problems of students or even university affairs, who doesnt exist in the first place.

You can say you will have God's blessing but to say we are having an imaginery god as chairman of an institute who is suppose to run the affairs of that institute.

2. The newspaper by publishing this story has tried to fulfill its duty by informing the masses about the quality of this institute so that they should use their brains inteads of b----to send their childern for education to that institutes.

Maybe for the crowd here on defence.Pk might only view these reports a side distraction, reporting Gossip has a far larger readership and with dedicated fans as well.

The line of journalism I primarily worked upon was infact Entertainment only (although I too would kill to write in the political columns) and it requires a massive skill set to dig up the juicy details out of celebs and local businesses.

The thing is, ones personal interests aside, no one is any less of a journalist. The news is already out there and making itself public and reaching the journalists when it comes to political events. However, in this case it really requires the journalist to be well informed and to be on the prowl for info.

And plus its an honest living, no one's cheating, killing and stealing. Everyone's working hard to put food on their tables. Hardwork, no matter be it trivial, should always be commended.

You are arguing for the sake of arguing.

To be frank, are you the Watchdog for Lunatics International?

If someone is stupid, can you do something about it?

What exactly is the point that you wish to make?

I am sure you are not funding the Institute are you?

If such a thing happened in Pakistan, could you have stopped it? Maybe you could through the infamous Blasphemy Act.

Such an act does not exist in India.

Retirement does not change anyone perspective and I hardly require someone of your standing to teach me courage. And youth I perceive does not in anyway induce brains or logic.

Journalists, be they Indian, Pakistani or of any other nation in the world have an agenda and are in the grips of those who finance the papers. They have to pander to their views. Or else, all newspapers would have been the same in content and commentaries. I thought it is no secret and even journalists are aware of it. How is it that you are not aware?

The newspapers have to also fill their space and in today's context, sensationalism and gossip are the by word. Try any newspaper of the world excepting possibly some highbrow ones and you will find mindless sensationalism and gossip and more dangerous, unfound speculation. In fact, the journalists, since they are the sole ones who have access to the print vehicle, have fond delusions that they are the Kignmakers and the world beaters. A false and vainglorious attitude.

I find it odd that I have to state axioms to one who claims to be a journalist!!

As far as this education institution that has caught your fancy, am I to understand you are seriously concerned about it? Are you seriously worried about the education of the Indian youth? Have you shown the same enthusiasm for those poor madrassa youth too? If so, why don't you start a campaign in India to show its folly? What stops you? or are you the one who is afraid to face the truth and instead take the cover of the nameless and faceless internet to pursue some hidden agenda?

Asim,

Being a run of the mill journalist and a journalist of repute are as different as chalk and cheese.

And indeed, both are there to put the bread on the table and rarely and solely for the joy of penning his thoughts.

True, entertainment journalism is gossipy, but then that is accepted as an axiom within limits of personal invasion.

It is not as bad as killing, stealing etc, but it does allow fabrication in subtle ways that do not cross the threshold of libel!

Serious journalism is not for the uneducated and ill read.

Cub reporters are great at churning up drivel and they too are doing it to put the bread on the table. But no editor would like to have drivel becoming its paper's staple unless it is a yellow journalism rag!

It is not that I am unfamiliar with the media industry and how the pennies fall.

You are arguing for the sake of arguing.

:) check your arguments rather opinion Brigadier Ray, these are nothing but based on some personal vendita of yours against Journalists beacuse they expose the real ugly faces of many in many cases.

To be frank, are you the Watchdog for Lunatics International?

If someone is stupid, can you do something about it?

Are you calling the Indian head of the intsitute in this case as Lunatic ????

I have no problem if someone is stupid but if that stupid wants others to follow him i guess a sane person would have some responsibility to play his or her role.

I am sure you are not funding the Institute are you?

I dont fund stupids ;)

If such a thing happened in Pakistan, could you have stopped it? Maybe you could through the infamous Blasphemy Act.
Such an act does not exist in India.

No one is asking you to stopp it in this case too, and as far journalists are concerned they only point out things, dig up things and inform the public and the authorities concerned who are responsible for stopping such things not the journalists.
The journalists are playing their part now its up to the sane section of any society either to play their role atleast by opposing such things or become part of the stupidity by presenting lame excuses and air-filled arguments.

Retirement does not change anyone perspective.
That i can see very well. i wish if it does change old habits ;)

and I hardly require someone of your standing to teach me courage.

A wise man never stops learning and the one who thinks he dosnt need to learn anymore well he is either stupid or super-natural and i think you are neither of these ;)

youth I perceive does not in anyway induce brains or logic.

And i percieved that old age after some good experience does induce brains and logic but Sir alas you failed to understand what i meant.

:) again and again same perjudice and hate of yours against jouranlists but never mind.

as far as using faceless internat for pursuing some hidden agenda well my dear brigadier i am not here with a fake name i am what i am not someone who is not using even his Original name. and im not some retired officer to have any agenda.

Actually the article was hilarious. A guy wanted publicity for his college and got it. Since God is imaginary nothing wrong in having him as an imaginary chairman. Just as there is nothing wrong in posting such funny news.

Aleast the person does not plan to use this god as an imaginary teacher.

After all the madrassahs, seminaries, monastries, temples etc in olden days were all places of learning where God lives as the de-facto Chairman.

Regards
