LUCKNOW: Hanuman, the popular Hindu God revered for his strength and valour, has been named official chairman of the recently opened Sardar Bhagat Singh College of Technology and Management in Lucknow, a school official said on Saturday.

The chairman's incense-filled office has a desk and a laptop computer. Four chairs will be placed facing the empty seat reserved for the holy chairman, but all visitors must enter the office barefoot, said Vivek Kangdi, the school's vice chairman.

"It is our belief that any job that has blessings of Lord Hanuman is bound to be a success," said Kangdi.

"All Hindus know that Hanuman can lift mountains and leap oceans, but ancient texts make no mention of his business acumen. Never mind that," says Kangdi.

"When we were looking for a chairman for our institution, we scanned many big names in the field of technology and management. Ultimately, we settled for Lord Hanuman, as none was bigger than him," Kangdi said.

Sardar Bhagat Singh College in the capital of Uttar Pradesh awards bachelor's degrees in engineering and management. The school opened last year.

BTW i was asking the context that religious pretext are used mostly in our country too for getting benefits by exploiting the emotions of the believers so is it the same that the said educational institute of India mentioned in the above news is doing the same.

No wonder the standard of university education in the north sucks big time(except Mumbai and delhi). If the univ head is such a dumb wit, one wonders what kind of management students will emerge from such institues. Wait a second is this one of those schools offering specialisations such as Temple management, Assest management for Swamis?

Jana these are usually tier 4 or tier 5 schools surviving on the basis of payment seats, In India usually such colourful people own such tier 3 schools, guess what in Tamilnadu some prominent tier 2 engineering colleges are owned by former mafia bosses and liquor barons.

If you have the money to start a school or college, you can do so.

The curriculum has to be within the prescribed norms to be attractive to the students, since the school or college has to be a running concern through students' fees.

I am sure no one cares who is the on the management team or who is managing the institution.

That is inspite of nations having single religion as State Religion, the popularity of Christian schools and Colleges does not in any way not allow them to be oversubscribed.

I have seen schools in India, which have no Christians in the management, and instead has Hindus and people of the Islamic faith in the management, passing off as Convents!! Indeed, there is no doubt that Christian schools and Colleges are famed for its superiority in education.


Therefore, the bottomline is that any education institutes to function, has to give quality education and it matters not as to who runs it.
