London school bans Muslim students from fasting in Ramazan

"Most children fast themselves." Based on what source?
Personal experience and from the surroundings! You do realize that I live in a 90% Muslim nation.
Fasting and not drinking is detrimental to a childs health. I gave you the evidence. But that should be common sense. Its not a sign of strength but a sign of less intellect. Any semi educated moron knows about the importance of nutrients in a childs development.
So, you are telling me not drinking or eating anything for at least 10 hours isn't a sign of strength! They do eat, just not for a certain time.
Well you totally missed (or ignored) my point... but that does not matter because a. its not the topic and b. as I said countless times, those handful of nations or better cities do not represent the Muslim world.
And I was talking about the Middle East along with comparing it to other ones as you had previously asked to discuss so.

People living in western democracy would prefer to stay there even if their earnings are reduced but the same might not be true for middle east
And people will live in even more hellish conditions in the Middle East even if their wages are more than what they earn at their home nation.

am not sure how they concentrate on studies, if I am fasting, I see food everywhere.:(

Its gratifying to see most posters agree with what the school has done.

A random thought , Would the reaction been the same if an Indian School had enforced this to their students ?

@nair @Oscar @Horus @SpArK
If it would come out with a statement like this school has done, it would get support from educated people. However, since even this has been critiquied is ample evidence that if not for strict law enforcement as in Britian; the Horde of extremist idiots from South Asia that make up a major section of British Muslims would probably burn the school down.

Disclaimer: "Educated" does not refer to possessing a university education or anything of that sort. That is literate and not educated since that latter involves actually going much more beyond your degree and taking in multiple world views.

.
Seem you just ran out of arguments, thats why you put "secular liberal" in each sentence

FYI: The state in these nations has real priorities. Instead of enforcing senseless and irrational laws written into a book over 1300 years by random dudes, they have the responsibility to protect the rights of those who are not able to decide for themselves: Children.

I gave the rational and scientifically backed reasons why children must not do such nonsense. And all you have is your puny little rant

Why would God like to see children suffer anyways? Why does God want to see their development disturbed by bad parents who let their child starve? Denying a thirsty child water is inhumane, archaic and simply disgusting.

Really am I the one ranting or are u running away from a classic case of liberal bigotry and intolerance? What is the school to tell muslim parents how to raise their kids ? Its none of their business.

U didn't give any reasons apart from ranting your religious dogma that neither has any rational or scientific reason but based on blatant bigotry against a religion & way of life antithetical to yours. What u r ranting abt is your religious views and u r trying to force it down the throat of others. Your ranting shows your duplicity and how hollow your claim of "tolerance in a liberal secular society" is.

Advantages of fasting are proven scientifically.

10 Benefits Of Fasting That Will Surprise You
As for random folks writing an ancient book we will see whose book it is when you are raised from the dead.

1.) Those findings are not secured yet and still under discussion. Oh and the article was about intermittent fasting and not about weeks.

2.) We are talking about CHILDREN who cannot even drink water! Children are still in development and need the nutrients for their development.
And eating everything you missed in one go isnt good anyways... And I am not going to start about the health risks of not drinking sufficient water in summer.

3.) If they dont like that, they can move back to some theocratic failed state.

If children are abused, its the duty of the authorities to step in. Those are their rules, if you dont like it, move away.

You are either not capable of reading or just stupid. I gave you the risks.

Children are still in development and should not fast for such long periods. Children must never be dehydrated... this is especially dangerous during summer. Children who fast cannot perform properly without enough food/water.
Long fasting can damage the digestion system (Heartburn due to too much acid, irregular bowel movement etc etc)... and dozens of other side effects.

Personal experience and from the surroundings! You do realize that I live in a 90% Muslim nation.
a.) The UK is not a Muslim nation. Its a nation of the 21st century and not a dark age state.
b.) Personal experience is not proof.
c.) Children are not able to fully decide for themselves, thats why there are age restriction laws.
So, you are telling me not drinking or eating anything for at least 10 hours isn't a sign of strength! They do eat, just not for a certain time.

Its sheer stupidity, it has nothing to with strength but more with failed education and missing common sense. How is not giving water to a thirsty child in the summer heat a sign of strength? Its the very definition of some uneducated child abusing moron.

Why would God want to do that to a child?

Oh and the daylight period can very well exceed 10 hours

. . . .
Well, I would but you would ridicule them. A sheep can't learn new things, it only knows what its basic instincts allows it to.

No, you dont have anything that shows us how many percentage of fasting children (!) in the UK are doing it voluntarily.

None of these things (Which are mostly not secured yet) are about children but adults.

"It’s all about continuous hydration, where your child should be drinking at least 8 ounces of water during and after their activities, and consistently sipping throughout the day. The body needs constant replenishment."

While there is still discussion on the topic its agreed upon that children need to eat at least three times a day.

"I think it’s important to take a step back and consider why young children need to eat more frequently than adults. For example, an adult’s stomach is about the size of a football while a toddler’s is the size of his fist. This is why newborns eat every 1-3 hours around the clock and as their stomachs grow, they can go longer and eventually stop the night feeds."

"By school age, children can move to a “3 meal and one afternoon snack” routine, but timing of breakfast and lunch matter. For example, a child that starts school early (7:30), meaning breakfast is at 7 or earlier, who doesn’t have lunch until 12:30, would need something in between."

Nonsense, we have been able to go through the whole day without eating anything and very little actually happened. And this is not just me, there are millions of children's who have done the same.

No, you dont have any.
I presented to you facts and real life examples which can be seen easily, it is you who chose to not accept it.

A 13 year old child is an adult. Biologically speaking.

So properly conducted reasearch is nonsense and worth less than you subjective perception?
You are getting ridiculous. Surely anyone with some basic knowledge is gonna give more attention to some random online fundamentalist than to empirical studies conducted by physicians and other scientists from renowned institutions.

BS^100
Are you really that ...... ????
The average 13 year old is still growing to become an adult. Teenagers in their puberty are especially in need of proper nutrition.

In my younger days I fasted and it in no way impacted on my school work. I was ahead of many others who were not fasting. All the Pakistanis fasted at my school.

Fasting as a child instills a strong sense of self-discipline which is a pretty useful trait.

I notice many on this forum need the slightest excuse to undermine Islam.

Their school, their rule! Simple if you don't follow guidelines , you have no right to stay there.
AND There are Madrasas available in U.K for religious teaching and guidelines.

There is no need to conduct a research. Come to Bangladesh in the month of Ramadan and see for yourself. Sometimes an observation is much greater than a research, since the huge number of people involved in the later and the short time it requires. You know bodybuilders and athletes too go for fasting (not like ours) and it helps them get in shape and improve stamina.

Scientists themselves say there are benefits into fasting, and several people including myself have given you link to such articles.

But then again, a sheep can't be taught new things.
