And let's be india buys stuff from France n not other way around .. It would still take you atleast 2-3 decades to reach that level.

Some US Think Tanks have proposed to reduce the supercarrier battlegroup because they believe those supercarriers are some easy targets for China's hypersonic weapons, so it is better to spend more money to build more nuclear subs and their own hypersonic weapons which will become the decisive factor for the future warfare.

But most of their Think Tanks believe that a direct war with China is unlikely, so it is better to maintain the carrier battlegroup for the better normal projection capability.

UK and France cannot beat India in its own turf, while India also cannot reach their domain with its conventional projection capability.

Except the US, no one has the capability to bring the conventional war on the soil of the UK and France.

Yes...you are right. But many of the war scenario are purely hypothetical such as France vs India or US vs UK, but some are real such as India vs China or China vs Japan or India vs Pakistan. The latter scenarios goes into military strategists calculations much deeper than than those hypothetical situations.

But for UK/France to fight China in the Asia-Pacific, it is like a 400 pounds lion trying to mess with a 2000 pounds monster croc in the water pool. The answer is so obvious.

However, the monster croc is also clever, which he will not venture too far into the lion territory. Since you can see that China usually will not try to show off its presence around the NATO domain.
