There is difference here. India and China are of same size. Given the economy projections, India can match in economic strength sometime in future with China and this will lead to significant military spending on part of India. While Pakistan can never match India on size or economic strength.

If size was the criteria russia would have been the sole super power of the world ... Not USA ...
And let's be india buys stuff from France n not other way around .. It would still take you atleast 2-3 decades to reach that level.

It depends where the battlefield is.

UK and France cannot beat India in its own turf, while India also cannot reach their domain with its conventional projection capability.

Except the US, no one has the capability to bring the conventional war on the soil of the UK and France.

That was different times. Military strategies have come a long way since then. Size matters a lot when the size is 10 to 15 times the other one. Given India's economic growth, there is only one way India can go. I stand by my opinion, it will be hard, in fact impossible, for France to defeat India.

USA can pretty much beat everyone in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, but cannot beat Russia and China at the vicinity of their own home turf.
