Live! Launch of India's heaviest rocket GSLV Mark III successful

If this rocket does not even use cryo egine(dummy 3rd stage) what was the major difference from PSLV? Just strapped on boosters?

Empty payload, test mission, why waste propellants?
BTW its not ready yet.

{{{{{{{{{The primary objectives of the GSLV Mk. III test flight included the examination of the overall behavior of the launch system as a whole in the dynamic environments during launch including turbulent and reverse flow conditions during the transition to Mach 1 and at Maximum Dynamic Pressure.

Response of all structural to the vibration environment as well as peak G-load were of interest. Particular focus was on a series of newly developed systems and their operation in flight including the two S200 boosters and L-110 Core Stage as well as the separation systems of the boosters consisting of pyro bolts and jettison motors, a new collet separation system of the core stage also using separation rockets, and the tension based spacecraft separation system.}}}}}}}

{{{{{{{{{Meanwhile, GSLV was powered up to begin a final set of reconfigurations and detailed testing that included communication checks, Flight Control System verifications, Flight Termination System testing, verifications of Thrust Vector Control Systems, electrical systems, radar beacons and ground support systems including downrange tracking stations. No issues were found and GSLV pressed into its final countdown hours.}}}}}}}}}

Good Job...

Wonder if Shivraj Singh Chouhan has congratulated ISRO or, not... :D

India increases its capability of LEO transfer from 3.7 tons to 10 tons = More Moolah for foreign launches.
LEO payload at 10K USD per Kg means 10 tons come out to 100 million per launch income; provided its fully booked for 10 tons.

Congratulations to every scientist who has put in their sweat and blood in making India stand tall in international space sector. Proud to have such bright minds in our country.

2016 onwards is going to be very, very interesting for commercial space launches. I guess 2015 was anyway booked to the brim with ISRO not taking any further orders.

With this kind of a launch, India has opened a new window of 4 tones for GTO payloads.
India will never spend a dime for her own launch of satellites for sure.
