That’s actually the reason why most Americans believe the fake news about other countries unconditionally. It is much easier to brainwash when their lives are comfortable. Poor people are more alert.

Exactly. Sometimes blessing can be a curse. However, the difference between China and America is that America at least has a legacy of freedom, despite being eroded continuously. This allows people who aren't comfortable being brainwashed to find out truth themselves. People can still speak out, despite the rampant political correctness, and there are always people who seek out. In China, there is only one voice and those who attempt to seek out different voices are often sanctioned (criminalizing VPN usage, e.g.).That’s actually the reason why most Americans believe the fake news about other countries unconditionally.
I keep getting these same arguments from democracy advocates. Yea, we can speak out. We can kick out the government. We can make fun of our politicians.Exactly. Sometimes blessing can be a curse. I never advocate democracy unconditionally. However, I always advocate freedom for everyone unconditionally. And I didn't talk about political systems. I only talked about as a person whether he has the opportunity to seek the truth for himself without being punished for it. This is personal, not political.I keep getting these same arguments from democracy advocates. Yea, we can speak out. We can kick out the government. We can make fun of our politicians.
But nobody talks about the real results or the bottom line. Everyday things that matters like law and order, homeless populations, Opioid addictions, illegal immigration, affordable care, BLM and now inflation etc.
Sure you can criticize but that is how your political system works. You HAVE to criticize. The job of the opposition is to undermind the current administration, to bring it down so the opposition can take over. So the 2 main parties throw shit at each other and the country ends up divided into 2. And NOBODY fits the real problem at home, They just blame each other. This is how your political system WORKS.
Infact the job of any administration is 90% foreign policy. Tell me. Does Biden talks about any of the real local problems or does he talks more about Russia or China ?
Just look at the news.
And if you have not notice, China HAS a different political system. With a DIFFERENT political system, you have DIFFERENT rules.

Knowing others better than themselves is very common. What is more difficult is for him to know himself. It is because a person is not blinded by another person's prejudice but only by his own. And you may base on your assessment of "people in China have more realistic knowledge about America than the other way around" on the fact that more Chinese studying in US than Americans in China. All make sense. The end result is the same because Americans are some of the most brainwashed people on earth. At least Chinese people try to learn about the West, but Americans don't want to learn about China, they just want to demonize it or they believe fake news.
I can guarantee you that people in China have more realistic knowledge about America than the other way around.

However, that only puts Americans in disadvantages when they assess China, not when Americans deal with themselves, which is a far more important task. I believe it is far more beneficial and effective for a person to mind his own business than minding others'.
Because they have a chance to get out of the state of being brainwashed if they choose.Yeah but that's why your assertion that because a society has more freedom translates to people being less brainwashed is simply not true. People in China have access to more realistic but controlled information, it makes them more realistic and knowledgeable than Americans getting blasted by retarded and angry fake news 24/7 and real information being marginalized or hard to find.
Because they have a chance to get out of the state of being brainwashed if they choose.
And being controlled doesn't mean being more realistic. On the contrary, it more likely means being less realistic because controlling means it doesn't wants individual persons to figure out the truth on their own. In another word, you have to accept his own version of truth and no question asked. If you accept it without at least attempting to verify it yourself, it is less a truth and more like a superstition or a belief. I believe you can be safe to say that people in China have access to more "realistic" belief (the quotation is added to avoid outright contradiction).
China even allowed them to join the APEC as Chinese Taipei.
I am idealistic in finding and understanding the reality. I have no intention to let the reality to corrupt my own integrity.I think you are really idealistic and are out of touch with reality.
Since when were Commies wearing pink and becoming cheerleaders mate. You can call me wumao but not a pink pom pom cheerleader okay. That's an American attribute.. Lolol
LOL! Was that the same day on PDF you were boasting about wearing a pink dress and hanging out with the boys on the corner? Everybody remembers you saying that too.
I am idealistic in finding and understanding the reality. I have no intention to let the reality to corrupt my own integrity.
Take myself as an example. When I was in my 20's, I was a big fan of western ideology like democracy and freedom. Because I was brainwashed by west propaganda. Back then I was addicted to listening VOA and Free Asia broadcasting. I was one of few students among my classmates who never asked to join the CCP.That is one side. On the other hand, people in mainland China are brainwashed in the way that they would never understand people in Taiwan and Hong Kong, despite being the same people. Of course, they won't admit it because in their mind, it is all other people's fault and they have been perfect all along.
Not really. Idealism doesn't have to clash with the reality. What often is wrong is the insistence on some idea that the reality doesn't agree with. Such an insistence, which often springs from self-conceit, usually sacrifices the scientific principles and sound logic so that his idea seemingly "agrees" with the reality. That is what I meant by corruption of integrity and the key to prevent that is the idealism based on the scientific principles.Idealism and reality often clash. Idealism is useless when you lose a grip on the facts.
