If India knows so much, then off course they would know how the militants are gonna cross, from which areas, and who is gonna be supplying them the local support, meaning who is gonna make them go to that place, definitely there would be inside help in all this God forbid if it ever happened even if a failed attack.

So, why don't the Indian spy agencies act right away and try to locate the local support among the Indians to these kind of militants which want to create mayhem and nothing else.

If Pakistan is failing to control them, then i believe India is in the same league since they can't point out the local support infrastructure to these militants, as in the case of Mumbai. Not heard any concrete thingy about anything happening with regard to local infrastructure which supported the mumbai attackers.

you think 26/11 drama could have taken place without inside support? Seems that a few unruly kids with rusty assault rifles knew the layout of mumbai (leave alone the hotels) better than their police/security forces did. More to it than meets the eye.

New Delhi: Intelligence inputs indicate terrorists are planning to target the Bhakra Nangal Dam in Himachal Pradesh.

Intelligence Bureau sources on Saturday said an advisory has been sent to the Himachal government to tighten the security at the dam.



It is believed that the Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jamaat-ud-Dawah groups are likely to carry out the strike during the Monsoon, during which water level is very high in the dam.

Damage to the facility at that time could cause havoc in the areas downstream, especially Chandigarh, parts of Haryana, Punjab and Delhi.

"A number of intelligence inputs indicate that the Bhakra Dam is one of the most preferred targets of Pak-based terrorist organisations. Reportedly, the LeT has also been training its cadres on aspects like cliff-climbing, swimming across water channels and handling of explosives with the intention to target major dams in India, particularly those located in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh," the IB report said.

"Recently, Pak-based terrorist outfits like the JuD/LeT have been raising the emotive issue of water sharing between India and Pakistan and allege that India has been appropriating major share of water from rivers flowing into Pakistan by constructing various dams. The Bhakra Dam figures prominently on their target list due to its economic importance and potential for large-scale damage on the downstream," the report has warned.

"Bhakra Dam has high propaganda value and any attack (on it) would attract immediate media attention," the report pointed out, saying that the dam had acquired "iconic status".

The whole conspiracy theory is based on a rediculous report that some intelligence goof saw men in Pakistan cliff climbing and swimming...and he/she went on toassume that they are plotting to blow up a dam....Unless they are spidermen,they cant scale 250 meter high walls of the saiid dam with tons of explossive...Anything less than a ton will barely scratch the dam....

True. I recently saw a debate on CNN IBN about the state of homeland security of India and there was one guy from THE HINDU who said that Indian Govt's response to terror has always been more armed guards (exhausted at the length of their duty hours) and metal detectors who make beep sound (which no one seems to bother). He argues that there is a serious shortage of men & material at the place they are most required ie collecting intelligence. Even there is said to be a shortage of foreign language experts so as to analyze the data collected. The foundation block of the intelligence pyramid is the state intelligence and sadly it is in shambles in many states as this dept is increasingly used by politicians for their own devious purposes or used as a dumping ground for police officers who fell out in favor with the Govt.

I am surprised that they want Pakistan to act against LeT, but they are still unable to break their own local network which provided support for local terrorism.

good logic..... But it doesnt matter what logic says or what someone thinks - the only thing that matters is what you can prove..... India has phone records traced to pakistan, a pakistani confessing to his crimes and that he was sent from pakistan (all this is considered proof)....... So unless pakistan can prove that indians had a hand in mumbai nobody is gonna listen to you or care.... And the whole world will continue to believe that pakistan is the hub of all terrorism
