LCA Tejas will not be operational before 2020. Production rate is 4/year.

You need planes to operationalise a squadron.

You can't send over blueprints and make a squadron.

Only comparison of Tejas to FC-1 is FC-1 flying at mach 1 and a ADA scientist throwing a blueprint in shape of a paper plane at distance of 2-3 meters.

Best way to have a Tejas vs FC-1 competition is to designate the HAL/ADA Laboratory in Bangalore as an IAF base and then invite the Pakistanis to open a PAF base in the same laboratory then the FC-1 and Tejas can face off face to face.

JF 17 doesn't have trAiner that's creating problems to replace mirage trainers..

No sathya it's not creating any problem for pilot conversion because it's an all out easy to fly machine but definitely its creating problems in foreign sales because this single seat thing may suited us but not to others.

what does 'soon' mean in the LCA context....20 years!!!

yes , you J-17 fly many times longer then armed F-16 also......lol thats the most laughable thing PAK said about JF-17... 9th wonder of world is JF-17 ... dude put in place in record book ....

Indeed because it's our own aircraft and multi times cheap to fly and over all other cost rest we don't have any problems with spares and others so no matter how much hours we log onto it we can recover the hardware unlike F-16 spares and cost issues :p

Which aircraft are you using for Advanced jet training ?:what:

:lol::lol::lol:

even Rafael had to wait for 10 years..:D
and still not 100% guaranteed..

Actually the interest in LCA has substantially increased only after April 2010
when LCA finally got a RADAR ie LSP 3 model of LCA

Before that even we Indians did not care about LCA and thought that
LCA project has been given up

Now it is just SIX more months

satya the countries who have already operated F-16 aren't having a problem flying this jet because JF-17 is a lighter and advanced version of F-16 you can say these jets are little brothers to F-16 !!!

Well Sathya its not about AJT its about pilot conversion and for this purpose PAF is using simulators as you have heard an attrition of JFT earlier it was due to some device fitted to collect data in order to create even more precise simulators for pilot conversion because these aircrafts were taking place of current flying fleet and pilots which will be moved to these machines are already have a lot of hours flying hours in their log like A5 Fantan which were our nuclear capable attack aircrafts now been retired from service and replaced by JFT. In near future we will see JFT-B series aircraft a twin seater be used as FCU, fighter Conversion Unit or a OCU, Operational Conversion Unit.

Now about AJT PAF is using FT-5 and K8 for this purpose and I believe FT-5 are going to be phased out soon and may be replaced with K8 or may be with L-15 in future.

Jf17 is a half way house between a f7 and the f16c.

It has no Hms or refueling probe.

It has a powerful but gas guzzling smokey engine that requires high maintenance from Russia.

It lacks ldp ie laser pod and block one cannot use bvr missles yet until avionics upgrade.

Production has been slow with only forty fighters delivered in nearly five years.

Pak airforce are starting to look for more used f16 as they wait for block two thunder arrival
