Inspiring. This region is adjacent to Pakistan. This is what Pakistan could be in 20 years if only we could sort out the religious extremism.

I am not interfering in the fraternal country's internal affairs. I'm just a personal suggestion that Pakistan should focus on manufacturing.

I wish my friend, I wish. We do focus on manufacturing - only it is religious extremism. And our CEO are mullahs. One day I hope we will get out of this state of mind. But I think we will need Chinese help. A gentle prodding perhaps ....

In 2017, the industrial investment in Xinjiang reached 461 billion RMB (about 70 billion USD). The investment in the manufacturing sector is 280 billion RMB (about 40 billion USD). You can compare Pakistan with Iran, Iran's true CEO is Mullah. I guess you will get some interesting inspiration from Iran.

I think Iran is class apart. We are half way there but thankfully I don't think we ever will go that far. The guarantee is China. The bonded security is the $50 billion CPEC investment. That is all the proof I need that Mullah's will be defeated in Pakistan.

You misunderstood my implication. In fact, Iran is a workable model of constructing a modern society based on Islam ideology, their potential is limited by sanction from US and geopolitics, not by themselves. Pakistan is the opposite.

Iran acknowledge and integrate Mullah into their power hierarchy, this resolve lots of internal struggle which is common phenomenon in Sunni Muslim societies. e.g. Turkey, military coup is a periodical event. This is a very smart, pragmatic way to construct their political system, because Mullah control the authority to interpret Islam. Pakistan is the opposite, the installed British democratic system can't control how Pakistan Mullah interpret different version of Islam, can't control how Mullah influence massive grass root, can't control how e.g. KSA influence Pakistan Muslim.

If there's no sanction and confrontation against US and Israel, Iran will be the real hegemony of ME, a real developed Muslim society. Their model is demonized.

I'm not saying Pakistan should follow Iran model, the issue here, Mullah should not be an enemy, Pakistan should find a solution to integrate Mullah, educate Mullah, and make Mullah to become a positive force to serve the country, so 'defeat Mullah' is a fundamental wrong direction.

I did indeed. Your reply showed remarkable grasp of the situation we have. I think your understanding of Iranian theological model is flawed. I would be delighted if you could join us in the discussion in the link below. I don't want to derail this thread. However the Iranian model is IMHO deeply flawed and can only sustain itself because of the sophistication of Iranian society and massive oil/gas resources.

Urumqi is very close to Pakistan and they share a lot of similar cultures and food cuisines, hopefully the city can serve as a cultural bridge between the two nations.

Xiniang's GDP beat Kazakhstan a couple of years ago, now it is the richest region in the whole central Asia, well on her way to become the undisputed economic and financial center in central Asia. Great prosperity arrived in this remote vast land in far west China.
