What kind of a General he is ? We can't even imagine a Pakistani retired senior military personal calling names during debates of talk shows. This shows how frustrated they are and to which extreme filthy level their media is playing games with the perceptions of their own people... I still wonder what triggers such extreme dirty talk shows ? Is it the Indian media which is influencing general public or is their massive general audience which is influencing their media..? I cannot make up my mind.

What kind of a General he is ? We can't even imagine a Pakistani retired senior military personal calling names during debates of talk shows. This shows how frustrated they are and to which extreme filthy level their media is playing games with the perceptions of their own people... I still wonder what triggers such extreme dirty talk shows ? Is it the Indian media which is influencing general public or is their massive general audience which is influencing their media..? I cannot make up my mind.

I think he is himself mentally unstable; he certainly displays a split personality. In one interaction with young people (students of some college), he reacted to hostile questions calmly and with some effort to understand their point of view. But on these shows, he makes every one of us decent Indians cringe with embarrassment.

I believe that the media gets massive support from some distorted personality types in the general audience, and that they deliberately encourage such animal behaviour to get the attention of those types.

This isn't normal, either for the media or for India.

As for Arnab Goswami, although I don't watch him, and the last show I watched was maybe nearly four or five years ago, I have been thinking about him, and about 'Major' Gaurav Arya who has found a refuge on his channel. I think it is a deliberate attempt to attract those personality types mentioned earlier, people who have been called 'bhakts', people who certainly do not tolerate dissent from the views of either the present Prime Minister, his colleagues as ministers, the party in power, or their ideology of Hindutva.

Nothing spontaneous; just a clinically managed money-spinning racket.

Could not agree more. These shows are like scripted drama with roles defined and people debate at the cost of sanity & decency.

As far as Arnab is concerned he is very smart and good debater (I had privilege to watch him live on a RT debate) but his shows are mere low grade filthy street food for intellectually poor people.

As far as Mr. Bakshi is concerned, I'm not qualified to comment. He is old man, things happens if you are working for tv 24x7.

Guy is an old solider, passionate about his profession. He may sound retarded but I don’t mind his talk as long as he believes what he utters. But I can’t stand Aranab kusswami Nonsense and this new character, major Arya. Ffs he is nothing more than a retired major.

Maj.Arya and Gen bakshi are both selling their service years for a career in politics. Gen bakshi is also selling his brothers service years and then his sacrifice in battle.
They have precedence in their favour. These days its easier to become central minister or high ranking public official without spending even one day amongst the general public, without going door to door listening to public problems, without even helping a community get a handpump installed for water.
Being ultra nationalists, towing government line, and constantly reminding every one how big a favour they have done for nation by serving in army, and how countrymen couldn't sleep peacefully if they weren't on border ( most of these guys weren't on border post for more than 90% of their service anyway).
It is more like an advertisement of their employability in politics. And I think they fit the bill with nice language they use.

I believe he is not even a Major. @Dustom999 can throw light on this. He (Arya) was in service 94-99; the mandatory promotion to Major on completing 6 years came in 2004, I think. So how is this gasbag a Major? (He must have been a pain in his unit).
