You can use whatever you want and if you want to turn Kashmir into another Syria be our guest but who it is going to get hurt? Not Pakistan. They are fighting for their freedom, you lot are fighting to sustain your occupation. Facing stone pelters is childs play then going into cities where armed militia are waiting and hiding among the population , the fear of death can do strange things to human mind. Walking into a neighborhood where there is a strong probability of facing death for a Indian solider is completely different proposition then facing those kids throwing stones.
You're basically trying to sell us the same shit in a new package. What "consequences" you speak of is something we have experienced and crushed since the 90s. And mind you, this was a time when India was close to being bankrupt with little to no international support. Yet we crushed the militancy.
This is 2017 and "Islamic" terrorism has now become a curse to the world. We know how to play our PR right when we use heavy handed techniques. Kashmiris stand no chance if they pick up arms.
The Indian Govt. is not Assad and Syria which is a near dictatorship. We are a democracy and have provided the Kashmiris with the same rights as all other Indians. Nothing like Syria, so your comparison is misplaced.
Mind you, IA has been involved in COIN for 20+ years, something the Syrian govt. is inept at.
Of course your wish is that Kashmir turn into Syria. But unfortunately, it will remain only a pipe dream.
It is not that Indian establishment dont want to crush the Kashmirs , it is the fear of backlash, things going into spiral and out of hands which is giving nightmare to Indian strategist.
No state wants to use man and material to crush its own population. We would obviously like a peaceful solution to grievances, hence the restraint. But when push comes to shove and security of the state is at stake, we have obviously proven we can make the stone pelters and militants pay. Else you wouldn't be here sounding helpless with the entire situation.
Rest assured, just like what happened in Syria where it started from certain areas, Kashmir got full potential to extended mayhem all across India.
.
Heard this before, and we are well placed to face any "mayhem" Kashmiris can throw at us and return it back 10 fold. So again, Kashmiris should be careful what they wish for.
Shahadat and all that fairy tale jazz sounds good on paper. Death is brutal and no amount of Jazba and junoon is going to make it any better for Kashmiris if they pick up arms.
