Erdogan will try to transform Turkish Republic from parliamentary form to a Presidential form of Republic.

He envisions a newer, greater Turkish Republic with enhance global standing.

He will try to bridge the gaps and bring Turks more closer.

Are Turks generally in favour of giving the Presidency greater powers and transitioning to a Presidential model, or would they rather maintain the system that is in place now? What powers would parliament have to hold the Presidency to account?

There was a poll some time ago where over 60%said no to presidial system, since then Erdogan isnt talking about it anymore.

Thats why I keep saying that you dont know anything. Erdogan is dividing the people like no one before. Calling Shia and Alevi names and much more. How can you be that ignorant or at least try to tone you love for him down if you're really not well informed.

i love how non-turkish citizens talk about turkey, puting aturks's photo your profile, doesnt make you nationalist or kemalist., you are not turk officially, you are german. go german forums , make comments about merkel-germany.

I think it's about time to make a list of the things the different positions hold, something like an overview.

The PM hold certain powers, e.g. appointing ppl to certain seat and such. The same goes for the President.

So people could be nervous for what kind of a sandwich the judiciary will face. In the end AKP and Erdogan will do everything in their power to subdue the constitutional court, even though the court only has the power to make rulings. The court doesn't have the power to enforce the ruling that is what the parliament is for, but as you may remember AKP and Erdogan can stand on a podium and tell the tv reporters and everyone that they don't respect the constitutional courts ruling.
