I read somewhere ball tampering was much more common back then. Havn't seen them bowl live myself so will give them benefit of the doubt

Ball tampering is for reverse swing and yea - pretty much everyone did it - can't put the blame on one country. The only lot faster than the Pakistani bowlers in the 80s and 90s were the West Indians. I was too young to remember Imran Khan bowling in his prime; I did see him in the 1992 world cup and he was not very fast by then.
