The Kingdom has provided Arab countries with more than SR200 billion in foreign aid between 1990 and 2013, a Saudi economist said.
“SR163.5 billion was offered in the form of financial assistance and loans, SR12.4 billion as donations to societies and organizations and SR11.4 billion as multiparty aid,” economic consultant Fadi Al-Ajaji said in a statement to Al-Riyadh daily on Monday.
Total Saudi undertakings to aid Arab countries amounted to SR67 billion from January 2011 to the end of June 2012.
The largest sum of aid was delivered in 2011, amounting to SR20.4 billion.
The Sultanate of Oman and Bahrain topped the list of recipient countries receiving a total of SR18.8 billion in Saudi aid, Al-Ajaji said. The aid was delivered within the framework of an agreement of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to offer $20 billion as an aid package to Oman and Bahrain.
Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates also contributed to the aid. Egypt ranked second on the list of recipients of Saudi aid with SR15 billion allocated to its government and most recently $5 billion pledged in economic aid.
Out of a promised SR13.5 billion worth of Saudi economic aid including the supply of diesel and crude, Yemen received SR1.3 billion in the period between January 2011 and June last year.
Meanwhile, the Saudi government pledged SR9.9 billion to Jordan, of which the government has received $1.4 billion in the form of budgetary support. The remaining amount will be paid as part of the GCC aid of $5 billion, which will be equally borne by Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

KSA and The People of KSA have always been in the front lines in term of aid and assistance and that our contribution went even beyond the Muslim world. Its not something to be proud of rather an islamic principle Muslims are committed to do.

KSA would be read as kassa, in urdu it would mean to molest, apparently they issued 2 billion dollar aid to Egypt a day before Morsi's govt being toppled by the military... makes alot of sense where this aid/assistance drama is going !!

Sir we Pakistanis should be the last one to talk about it because our economy and our homes have been running because of their money and for past many decades Sir

joke of the decade, least to say !

Sir fact of the decade in fact decades which will not be changed by your denial Mr

Is that aid accountable or does it land on some political parties' pockets.

I thought Islam discourages aid from even an own brother, but people seem happy here.

countries who depend on aid never progress.

Perhaps, some day we must sit down and really weight the good:bad related directly to Saudi aid and their implicit involvement in our internal affairs. My opinion, their interference has cause us much more grief then any good their aid has brought. Even their 'aid' or support has almost always been conditional, sometimes on US demand, to suit their needs.

I personally think that we would be much better off without any external aid/assistance, as then we would be free to make decisions that are beneficial for our country. Even our foreign policies are dictated by these 'donors'. Is it not control by proxy?

Sir Saudi money has only benefited you they are not the ones who are funding these militant organisations and their are some families but not royal family Sir their are other super rich families in KSA who are pretty free and what Saudi government need to do is they take stand on many issues but should take more strict stand on issue of Palestine and other Muslim issues
