The only one who would benefit from Viet Nam going back to Chu Nom is the Chinese. By then, they will have more reasons to claim their supa bowa culture over Vietnamese while the Vietnamese literacy rate would drop to near zero like it used to before the 1900's. It was the Vietnamese nationalists who chose Quoc Ngu for the mass iliterate Vietnamese peasants to learn their language in a speed that has never seen before the 1900's. With the adoption of Quoc Ngu, a Vietnamese will be able to read and write our complete language by the time we are 8 years old. Name me one script that people can read and write their entire language by the time they are 8 years old??NONE. Sorry Chinese members, it was the Vietnamese nationalists/revolutionares that spread and adopted Quoc Ngu as the official script of Viet Nam (not the French that you constantly dreaming about).

The day that Viet Nam adopted Quoc Ngu, we have never looked back. If it was the French who forced Quoc Ngu upon us, the Communists of Viet Nam would go back to the Chicum Chinese script in a snap years ago; do you see any Vietnamese whether he is a capitalist or communist wanting to go back to Chinese script.

Seriously man, please do not associate Cantonese with Vietnam. Just because they stole Chinese ideas as the basis for their culture doesn't mean we have anything to do with them.

See...the point of your guys advocating us using your script is to boost your self morale. You can whine and cry all day about Vietnamese not using your Chinese script but at the end of the day, we have never looked back the day since we adopted Quoc Ngu.

Look at HK city alone, with only 7 million people our GDP is $263 billion.

Vietnam with almost 100 million people, your GDP is only $138 billion.

No one cares if the non-Chinese folks want to adopt the Chinese writing system or not, but we just want you guys especially Viets and Koreans to stay away from our history, stop claiming our lands are your former lost territories, stay where you are, don't come to China.
