An attacker with a knife killed two people and wounded several others at a church in the French city of Nice on Thursday, French media and police said, in an incident the city’s mayor described as terrorism.
Mayor Christian Estrosi said on Twitter the knife attack had happened in or near the city’s Notre Dame church and that police had detained the attacker.

Police said two people were confirmed to have died after the attack, reports Reuters.

The attack comes while France is still reeling from the beheading earlier this month of French middle school teacher Samuel Paty by a man of Chechen origin.
The attacker had said he wanted to punish Paty for showing pupils cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad in a civics lesson.
It was not immediately clear what the motive was for the Nice attack, or if there was any connection to the cartoons, which Muslims consider to be blasphemous.
Since Paty’s killing, French officials - backed by many ordinary citizens - have re-asserted the right to display the cartoons, and the images have been widely displayed at marches in solidarity with the killed teacher.
That has prompted an outpouring of anger in parts of the Muslim world, with some governments accusing French leader Emmanuel Macron of pursuing an anti-Islam agenda.

Why is this crap being posted in the BD section. What is the relevance.

@bluesky Bangladeshi population is not mature enough to understand the significance of this attack or the difference between verbal insults and physical, deadly attacks. No benefit in posting this here.
Yes, you may be right. But, the Holy Artisan attack was in Dhaka and the perpetrators were the sons of Muslim Bangladesh.

It is just another such news whereby Muslims, failing to get jobs in their fanatic countries go to Christian countries and then the Muslim hooligans take laws in their own hands. People should know about what their expatriate co-religionist fanatics are doing all over the non-Muslim world.

Muslim communities in those developed countries should call for the Muslims to leave these countries en mass to show solidarity with their faith and come back to their poor and underdeveloped countries instead of harming liberal-minded people there.

But, Muslims love to have more faith in double standards. Why not come back and practice your faith 24 hours a day?

Given your clearly limited knowledge of muslims, the west and muslims in the west...maybe this is a topic you want to stay clear off...

You want to discus it with muslims as a whole, place in where everyone in this site can see...

I fail to understand any relevance of this post.... you are trolling as usual and have mixed up french institutional islamaphobia with your cronic inferiority complex.

Irrelevant offtopic post
More interesting news would be that guy who was beaten to death and later burnt in lalmonirhat

You are mistaken if you believe French(or any other western nation) are liberal minded when they are attacked where it hurts. They tolerate mocking, insulting their own religion as religion ceased to be their identity long ago. But French do not allow mocking, insulting their national heroes whom they are emotionally attached. In 1970, French interior ministry banned the publication of Hara-Kiri magazine (predesessor of Charlie Hebdo) for mocking the death of Charles De Gaulle. France also does not allow questioning or insulting Holocaust. So you can see, they use censorship and punishment when it comes to protect their own sensitivity and emotion but perfectly fine to insult other people's emotion and sensitivity by giving excuse of ''freedom of speech'' and ''freedom of expression''. Do you find hypocrisy here?

My question to you, why should any Muslim accept the status and honor of their beloved prophet to be that inferior and unworthy of state protection unlike Charles De Gaulle ? I am all for freedom of expression and freedom of speech. But should not these be applicable to both 'us' and 'them' ?

There is definitely a double standard in the post-WW2 Western European political climate where anything regards to Jews and the holocaust is deemed as hate speech. Even the Israeli boycott (BDS) movement was deemed illegal in France recently. The Jewish lobby and the diaspora are wealthy and strong. Support of Israel also has grown more due to negative attitudes towards Muslims. I think 'freedom of expression' can be a slippery slope, and is often used as a coping mechanism by a lot of people. However, people getting needlessly offended also needs to stop. Personally, I won't make any public disparaging remarks about any group or culture as it is highly distasteful. People need to be mindful that there are no freedom from consequences. A country should definitely also maintain impartiality which isn't seen in France. Press freedom and ability to express ideas should however be protected, but societies need to develop a concrete mechanism to enforce that, rather than pick and choose. Also, personally I wouldn't support immigrating to any place in W Europe (bar the UK I guess due to historical reasons). One can only become a German or a Dutchmen by name/citizenship, but will be forever seen as outsiders by a large section of the society. France has a constructed identity based on geography, and I guess isn't an ethnostate like the former are, but it has not been quite successful in (economically and socially) integrating a lot of its society, when poor ghettos exist in almost all of its towns. North America (or any other non-ethnostate) is a far better place to live and integrate.
