Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah reiterated Saudi Arabia’s full support for the government and people of Pakistan, said Pakistani Ambassador Muhammad Naeem Khan.
“We enjoy excellent relations between the two countries, which work hand in hand for collective security, prosperity, peace and progress,” Khan said.
“We have always had long-standing bilateral relationships with the Kingdom.”
The Pakistani envoy pointed out that “we are working toward a series of high-level visits and exchanges in the coming days and are trying to institutionalize this relationship in all fields,” he said.
Khan said that “The estimated 1.5 million Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia serve as a bridge between the two countries. We look forward to more bilateral exchanges with the Kingdom.”
Khan said: “I thank the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, Crown Prince Salman, Ministries of Interior and Haj for the excellent arrangements made for the pilgrims this year.”
Khan added: “I also express my appreciation for the expansion of the Grand Mosque and its facilities, which are being provided to pilgrims both in Makkah and Madinah.”
He said that Pakistan’s President Mamnoon Hussain also performed Haj and was welcomed by King Abdullah and Crown Prince Salman.
“We are grateful to the gracious hospitality extended by King Abdullah to the Pakistani president and delegation,” he said.
Khan said: “Saudi Arabia is a second home for the Pakistani people. Our nationals are always keen to serve in Saudi Arabia. The Pakistani community continues to play an important role in the Kingdom,” he said.
“Our special relationship with Saudi Arabia is based on mutual understanding, unity, Islamic identity and civilization,” Khan said.
President Hussain said that relations between the Kingdom and Pakistan are strong, with religion at the center of this fraternal relationship.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also thanked Saudi authorities for the Kingdom's support of Pakistani projects, including the additional $100 million loan agreement for the Neelum Jhelum Hydropower project.
