In my personal opinion, the DM is being slightly over-rated then what his capability is. I am still not very sure that he is the right guy for the job. There might be a need to take a second look at Gen V.K Singh.

Not V.K. Singh, not atleast till the present COAS holds office. Parikkar is as good a guy to have in defence as possible. Hard working,reasonably efficient and a guy with tremendous political clout with the PM. That clout alone makes up for any shortcomings.
