I would just use the opportunity in this thread to say that I really like Kerala, the cuisine I have tried and the people I have met from Kerala in KSA.

As a half Hejazi (Saudi) and half Yemeni I found the geography and to an extent the cuisine to be very familiar to those of Kerala.

I also believe that it where the Hejazis and Yemenis who spread Islam through trade and settlements in Kerala.

Can anybody tell me about the Arab presence/history of Kerala in bigger details?

Also are there any Arab tourists in Kerala and if so how are they welcomed?

Lastly how similar is Goa to Kerala? Is it part of the same bigger region?

Can anybody tell me about the Arab presence/history of Kerala in bigger details?

I only know that the connections between SA and Kerala have always been very close due to trade. But except for big coastal cities like Cochin and back then Calicut, Arab influence did not have much impact.

Also are there any Arab tourists in Kerala and if so how are they welcomed?

I havent seen many Arabs (Men in Thawbs) in Kerala. I guess most of them who come here come for business reasons like for the inauguration of the Lulu Hypermall in Cochin..

Kerala has some beautiful Malabar beaches too, but the night life here is not comparable to Goa .
