Karnataka - Reservations in apartments

Two apartments in the same block! That screws me by Rs 10,000 per month. :hitwall: And the irony is I don't even stay there!! Jeeez!

DM you rich Baniya

That is true. But I would love to see his face when he has to subsidise his Neighbours flat with his money :D

The govt. instead of building homes for the poor is asking the citizens to do that instead and make them his neighbours

Not to sound elitist, but let me tell you a true story.

I had a Neighbour/friend who has purchased a flat in an apartment in Mumbai which had come up in an slum redevelopment project. As the saying goes, you can take a man out of the slum, but you cannot take the slum out of the man.

The slum dwellers who got the free apartments used to harass the new owners who actually had to pay for the flats. They used to throw garbage into the corridor :cheesy: ........ and since they were used to living with limited water supply, they were jealous that now everybody was getting continuous water supply, so they used to lock up the water supply and impose an artificial water shortage in the apartment

Needless to say, the children got exposed to a healthy doze of violence and swear words. His daughter used to get eve teased and hated staying there.

Now imagine this happening in Bangalore.

They will not respect the flats since they have not worked hard for it

Point is that class differentiation is a reality and you cannot wish it away. You cannot allow people from a different class into a upper class neighbourhood. It disturbs the natural equilibrium and creates unnecessary tensions. End result is, nobody is happy.

This new law is a recipe for disaster.
100% agree! Honestly, you don't expect me to be sitting in the lounge in the clubhouse with my dhobi!! Call me a racist but would you like to do that?

Oh they respect the flat and the neighbours, only their idea and definition of "respect" is different from mine or others. For someone, getting drunk and beating his wife in the hallway might be natural, others hate to live with neighbours who do that.

That is just one of a million things.

You mean he will comment on the stain on your pant and ask you how you got it ? :P

I do not have a problem with a Dhobi as long as he has the same life style as me and has the same exposure as me. But that hardly seems possible in real life.

As opposed to subsidising cows ? :D Haven't heard about this law, stupidity is obviously not limited to any particular political party though why the article seems to talk only about Mysuru is confusing.

So far its limited to the Congress, unless you can prove otherwise.
