Getting back.
900 km last month. A bit less this month due to travel.
Are you on Strava?
Cheers, Doc
@Rafael ??? nah!!!!
Too much as far as I am concerned. I did only 2650 kms last year. But I plan to do 4000 next year.
currently its too cold to do anything, let alone riding a bike
Yeah. got one last year.
Because of my knee injury (ITBS) early in the year, and the 5 months off the saddle, as well as a lot of international travel that really messed with my schedule (start-stop, getting the legs and heart-lungs back), I will just be able to top out at over 4000 kms this year.
Last years was 6000+ kms.
2019 my goal is to touch 10,000 kms. for the year. Regular year-long paddling, with some big brevets thrown in.
Cheers, Doc

That's still great. 2018 was my first year so most of it went building muscles, stamina etc and not to forget working out different timings. This year I plan to do longer rides. Infact planning for my first century by the end of January 2019 In Shaa Allah.
Great!!
Just wondering where you would do it!!
I was born and raised in taxila, plenty of spots there to go to on a bike, it was good fun. Here?? not sure where i would ride one.
Those base kilometers you've put into your body, your cardio conditioning, your core (trunk, upper body, abdo and back), and your legs, are absolutely crucial and key.
Without them, if you go too hard or too long too quickly, you will have a breakdown injury for sure.
My ITBS was due to that. Big ramp up in volume. 3000 kms in 9 months. Then the brevet season started. And I pulled 3000 kms in 3 successive months (October, November and December of 2017).
Lesson learned.
Please Google for Coach Hughes. His website has a ton of really fantastic information on training. Very very usable and not high fundoo. I swear by him!
Cheers, Doc
Excellent bro. I good activity for spring and summers i will say. It means that my excuses are only about me being lazy or else its possible doing it. Well, let the winters pass and may be i will try to get something going on this!!I mostly visit the entire city during my long rides but early morning; sometimes even before the sunrise.
Traffic is thin and weather is pleasant.
How does it effects your heart? I mean I have this chest strap and my average HR is around 155 with the speed average of 24-25 kmh. Is it because my heart is not trained to go that fast?

Yes. I do not know a lot about Lahore but in Islamabad its a pretty well organized activity. That was great fun really. Chlo, bnaty hein club koi,, let the weather get a bit better.Sure. The biggest problem here we have in our city is lack of any cycling club. In lahore, Isloo and specially Karachi, you will find 100s of riders early morning starting from DHA all the way to the airport! Some folks over their do 100 kms with the average of 33-35 kmh for fun. I only have two friends with me here and both are not very regular. So most of the times I do it alone. Having a club and friends to motivate you each day is a big plus.

Don't know about Pakistan, being further up north, but her in India this is the bestest weather for cycling.
You get great gear for cycling. A base layer rated for the temperature you are riding in (around 10 degrees in winter here). A jersey. A buff for your neck and ears and nose. Goggles, helmet, maybe a helmet inner cap or another buff, cycling tights (short or full length, depending on how cold it is), with or without over-shorts or tracks, gloves (full finger if its really cold), neon socks, and regular trainers (if you're riding with platform pedals). You're set. If its even colder, I sometimes throw on a thin fleece thermal that I can take off and stuff away into my pockets once I get warmed up or the sun comes out.
Cheers, Doc
If you already ride with a strap and heart monitor, you are a lot more pro than I am.
Read up on heart rate training zones and FTP (full threshold power).
Cheers, Doc
Lol i am not a pro at all. I just like to get myself fancy stuff .
Seriously, whats your avg speed? Mine is around 26/27 kmh on a 50 km ride.
