What will Pakistan do with Yaks, I believe they were developed for the Soviet carriers?

I am sure HQ-9 deliveries to PAF will start in a year or two. With such a good LR-SAM system (second only to S-400), Pak airspace will become impregnable.

There are rumours that it will be data-linked with AWACS, ground based radars and other SAMs (like LY-80).

Hopefully, PAF will save some money to get a new platform (like Su-35).

YAK-130 would be a great ground attack weapons, an excellent tank buster, but then again why invest in something like that when you're buying AH-1Zs and the turkish attack helo, may as well buy a front line fighter

It's more like wishlist nothing more except JF 17 engine or Mi35 nothing more .Russian wants cash which Pak don't have .

The news actually said a deal is close to being finalised for Yak130. Yak130 are in a similar class to the A10 Warthog ground attack for CAS.

Then Why not SU 25 frog foot for close air support with two mig 21 engines easy to maintain extream rugged faster than A10 warthog .

There is no question of buying S-300 when Pakistan has already completed integration of HQ-9 with HQ-16 MR-SAM.

PAF won't go for Yak when the first JF-17B is a few months away. In an interview, a senior PAF official (I don't remember his name) said the JF-17B is being primarily developed for export but it will be inducted into service as well (for LIFT role).

Stop posting BS here. Rafale is much more capable than F-16 Block 50/52. It has an AESA radar, Meteor BVR (similar to the most advanced PL-15), new EW suite, ability to carry nukes as well as cruise missiles.

JF-17 Block 3 will NOT be able to counter Rafale. PAF will go for Russian (Sukhoi Su-35) or Chinese (J-11) option. There is no news which says Russia offered less advanced Su-35 version to Pakistan.

If PAF goes for Su-35, it will be an aircraft as capable as Su-35S

If PAF decides to wait & buy Chinese, nothing less than J-11D will be purchased (with PL-15 AAM).

you are wrong bro yes RAFALE is more advance but in strike role Meteot range is 100 KM not 150+ KM like PL-15 and yes better ECM and ESM but SU-35 has little chance to get because of Indians, best bet is go for J-11D but it is in the early development phase and not forget that J-11D inducted by PLAAF first in numbers than it will be exported

These are fire & forget HOBS missiles. Take into account their anti-jamming and guidance capabilities. PL-15 has an active seeker, though I don't know if Meteor has one too.
