Kamran Khan Reveals list of weapons Pakistan buying from Russsia

. .
Russia is developing another single engine 5th Generation Fighter Jet. A source is telling us Russia is looking for partners and we have given positive response
wren't we going for J-31 & TFX??

. . . . . .
All this talk about RD-93 is for RD-93 MA version, we are shunning the middleman i.e China and going to sign the deal for MA version directly with Russia

Agreed with respect to RD-93MA that it was expected as well. I wouldn't exclude the favour of China herein these purchases whereby it supported us for Russian flexible stance towards Pakistan for these kinds of sale. Moreover, as all are aware with respect to overhaul facility at PAC with the help of Russia speaks volume about RD-93MA (upgraded engine version) purchase. Rest about SUs and YAK, only time will tell.

. .
SU35 I am not sure because of many statements which surfaced in past few months along with positive statement, so lets wait until the deal is inked or a clear rejection comes from Russia.

About YAK130, whats so good about them that PAF is showing interest in them?

20 MI35 is a good number for PD if true, but still little more a needed to fill the gap.

RD93 news is true.

. .
Makes sense. Russian will probably sell any/all items to any country just like France & USA. They need money and every dollar counts now. Just look up recent events.

.
Air force budget to be precise....probably of 3-4 billion dollars...

yes . Total budget allocation for Air force and Navy is small so its highly unlikely Pakistan could afford two Fifth generation fighter from two country . in case for Russia selling fifth generation fighter to Pakistan seems unlikely considering deep relationship between India and Russia at best you can hope for SU-35SM version. along with SU-35 RD-93MA engine and MRO facility for this and coming MI-35 is most likely .In my opinion only J-31 is most possible option Pakistan have if PAF wants to have Fifth generation fighter within 2030 ,TFX not even flying before 2023/25.

.
RD93 and MI35 = Yes

YAK 130 and SU35 = Big No

We don't have a Defence Budget of $50 billion
3 or 4 years back in an interview former def minster said pak was looking for a newer trainer jet, some days later he stated after coming back from a meeting with Chinese delegation, saying L15 was in talks.
Lets be clear on LIFT aircraft
Pak AF really needs a advanced trainer aircraft
At the moment to become a fighter pilot in af you have to go through, mushak then to t-37/k-8 and then the pilot is sent to fighter conversion unit and trains on the FT-7 then from there to their respective squadrons.
So our current advanced trainer is actually a fighter aircraft which is well not wrong but not very modern as per todays aspect.
Our first LIFT aircraft were FT-5 and FT-6,inducted back in 1955 and served till 2012 when they were replaced by F-7s and K-8p

A newer gen flexible trainer aircraft like M-346 or Yak 130 is the need of the hour.
