Syed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal, one of the 26/11 handlers, has expressed his desire to confess his role in the terror attack.

When Jundal was brought to the Esplanade court on Friday, he told the officials that he wanted to confess his role in the attack.
He has made a verbal plea before additional chief metropolitan magistrate PS Rathod. However, while explaining to him the entire procedure of confession, the court as per norms gave two days’ time to Jundal to think over his decision.

After that, if he still wants to go ahead with his confession, it would be recorded. His confession would be recorded on Monday provided he does not change his mind.

Jundal was brought to the court amid tight security and entry for the media inside the court room was prohibited.

Jundal replied in the affirmative when asked if he wanted to make his confession voluntarily.

In the meantime, the court remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days. Jundal’s custody ends on August 12.

His police custody has been overlapped and he has been sent to police custody.

However, the court on Friday only sent him to judicial custody. He will remain in solitary confinement in Arthur Road jail to ensure that his decision is not manipulated by any one.

Jundal was brough to Mumbai on July 21 after a Delhi courthanded over his custody to Maharashtra ATS. He was then remanded in the custody of the Mumbai crime branch.

The Mumbai police crime branch on Thursday brought 26/11 terror attacks convict Ajmal Kasab and his handler Abu Jundal face to face.

They were questioned together for about one and half hours at the Arthur Road jail.

However, sources from the crime branch said his confession could not be depended on completely because his co-accused Abdul Amir Kasab had also in course of his trial in the 26/11 case confessed to his crime only to retract it later.

Why should anybody go to war over a terror attack. Pakistan is not afganistan and we are not NATO.
We should try to get back at them without hurting our own economy, covert action is much more suitable.

NAMAK HARAM: Jundal will confess to his involvement in 26/11 and the court will sentence him to gallows. He can then happily take rest in jail as it is a known fact that he will send a mercy petition to the president and it will take at least a decade for any action on his mercy plea. Till then he can enjoy his stay in Jail and Biryani with Kasab.

And yet you are calling him terrorist before conviction......... Some great justice

you are absolutely right ! next time someone kills your country men , go and feed him sweets , till he is not convicted !

an honest question to any pakistani here ? do you guys anytime realize that your country's current state is a lot because of your own homegrown terrorism . or you think that it is part and parcel of life in pakistan ? :what:

I mentioned about covert operations with support of surgical strikes.

Aren't we wasting money on people like Kasab, visits to Pakistan, sending delegations to discuss this matter costs million dollars. Soldiers are still being killed in Kashmir due the fight against terrorists. Won't that affect economy.

it is all about capabilities, to be frank let us not fool ourselves and people here, every one knows had we had enough planning and capability PM would have asked to retaliate in a minute manner like operation Parakram and crossed the LOC in Kashmir.

I am sure if Shri AB Vajpaye was the PM, there would have been a strong retaliation!

Ans : Yes we do know that...But we also know foreign countries with history of cross border terrorism supporting Anti Pakistan elements.

Now my honest Question: Is this the topic here?

Well that is what he is accused of and has been arrested for so, yes, a more accurate term would be alleged-terrorist but all available information points to the likelihood he is a terrorist. And it is not the courts of judiciary labelling him before conviction but ordinary citizens who have every right to do so, this has no bearing on court precedings.

@topic, fair enough, this is the law so it has to be stuck to no matter what and regardless of what crimes the accused is alleged to have committed.
