TARIQ

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has announced that the party has decided to quit coalition government. The decision was taken in a high level meeting of the party. After this announcement, JUI’s two more federal ministers would tender their resignations.
After this announcement, President Zardari and PM Gilani telephoned Maulana Fazlur Rehman but he refused to talk. President Zardari’s spokesman Dr. Qayyum Soomro has reached the home of Maulana Fazal to convince him to take back his decision.
Talking to media, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he responded positively to the reconciliation policy of the PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari. He said that he asked the President to act upon the agreement as JUI had joined the government on the basis of such agreement. He said that the party had written many letters to the Prime Minister to take action against the people involved in the Hajj scandal but the government didn’t take any action. And the government dismissed their minister Azam Swati who stood firm against the huge corruption in Hajj operations, he added. Fazal said that government’s one-sided decision compelled them to quit the coalition government.

Govt wasn’t expecting brisk response: Mushtaq
Senior Analyst Mushtaq Minhas while talking to Dunya News said that the government had taken the decision to create balance and the government was not expecting brisk response from Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Mushtaq said that it seems PPP has decided to do politics and quit reconciliation process. He said that JUI had no option but to join opposition. He said that after JUI’s ouster, MQM’s bargaining position would be strengthened.

JUI ouster not to affect Govt: Ayaz Amir
PML-N leader Ayaz Amir while talking to Dunya News said that JUI expulsion will not have great impact on the government as they were less in number. He said that politics has some manners and rules and regulations, but the two ministers started pelting stones on each other which was unethical.

JUI can return to government: Nasim Zahra
Director Current Affairs Nasim Zahra said that the government should adopt such a strategy in the next 48 hours so that JUI can return to the government. She said that Zulfikar Mirza’s attitude towards MQM can force the party to think about their strategy to quit the coalition government as well. In this way, FATA members can also resign and the government would have no option but to beg PML-Q inclusion into the coalition.

I dont want to comment that about the contents on Dr Zulfiqar's speech but time was not right cause Ashura is just a day or two ahead and such comments will make the atmosphere more flammable. Moreover such things are to be discussed among stake holders behind closed door. To me it was just point scoring or some tester but nothing sane.

Latest about JUI Issue is that their two ministers Rehmatullah Kakar and Atta ur Rehman have also sent their resignation to PM

So does the government have the required majority without them?

Yes Government has the majority. They had seven seats in National Assembly and they are still coalition partners in Balochistan Government

assalam alaikum

^^^^^^So its going to be the original NRO script? PPP+PML (Q)+MQM? But where is Mush?

Fazlu, the cunning, has succeeded again in facing his political face, it seems at this point.

Maulana is the most cunning politician in our land ... He knows the PPP days are numbered and that's y he is jumping out of this sinking ship. MQM can squeeze more concessions from the PPP now or else quit the government in which case there will have to be mid term polls (its win-win for MQM anyway ) there might be rebellion in PMLQ if they decide to join this sinking ship ... who will have sleepless nights ? ... our foreign masters who made this NRO set up ... they will never like elections at this moment in Pakistan .

So its very likely that PML-Q joins PPP government?? And, perhaps, if PML-Q really joins hands with PPP in the center, there may be a change in Punjab government too.
