MANSEHRA: Naib Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Nasrullah Shaji, drowned in Kunhar River Mansehra district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa while saving life of a student, SAMAA reported Monday.

According to initial reports, the JI leader, who is principal of Karachi’s Usman Public School, brought a group of students for an educational trip to Mansehra’s Balakot town.

Eyewitnesses said students came to visit Kunhar River for a picnic where Sufiya, a student of 10th grade fell into the river.

“Some students were taking a dip in Kunhar River when Sufiyan fell into deep water. Shaji tried to save him but both of them drowned,” an eyewitness told SAMAA correspondent.
