Ameer Jamaat-i-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq says China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will play a leading role in development of the country.

Addressing a function in Peshawar, he said the whole country, including Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas, will benefit from the CPEC.

Siraj-ul-Haq asked Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government to take the Provincial Assembly into confidence about development projects to be completed in the province under the mega project.

He stressed the need for early merger of FATA in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and abolishing the Frontier Crimes Regulations.

A complete U-Turn...

First they were 'offended' by the move and now they're calling for an early merger.

Why not make FATA a province in its own right? There always has been debate in Pakistan that it has too few provinces that are too big to manage and need to be broken up into smaller pieces.

You are right but FATA is very bad brand name to begin with as its earned bad reputation all over the world. Its about 3% of Pakistan excluding G-B and Ajk with roughly 2% population so it is too small in comparison to rest of the provinces of Pakistan. It shares many similarities with KPK and will further enhance its economic activities and representation in the parliament

What?

first they were firmly against it, now they are for?

Anyone know how this will change the composition of kpk assembley
