Hi,
It is not 'cheap price'---. It is a good price.
This is the " Foot in the door price "---which would go up to a reasonable amount in the future---.
If this aircraft was produce by the U S---it would be 60 million dollars plus---.
If by Sweden 70 million plus---oh they produce one---called Grippen---.
The only problem here is that due to earlier BAD MARKETING & trying to sell the aircraft without a " total " package---like the DUAL SEATER---has hurt its future value increase badly.
Paf will never recover from that major error / incompetence of marketing---regarding the price---. It will have to sell it for 'cheap'.
The dual seater should have been the " VERY FIRST " aircraft produced for the JF17 series---.
A lack of it showed " BAD HOMEWORK " and of a lack of knowing and understanding the market---.
Sir if u don't mind the fact is that the main target market of JF series is PAF further initially to be honest JF17 was like an infant and now after block -II it has grown up and after block three shall develop into a Young guy. Pakistan was able to make it economical due to use of ready made products by Chinese with mixing some Western tech i.e Indra ECM gadgets/Suit on block II. Due to limited resources the marketing was kept at low level, however it;s good that suppliers are responding to demands of clients and two seater was developed on demand. It is marketing era and so developers are going as per market demand within their boundaries.
Still you shall see more orders once block three rolls out. One should not be always pessimistic.
At one point I am agreed that in future we should fully engage Chinese partners to grab big orders and marketing part should be given to any credible marketing firm.
But main aim should be to replace old jets of PAF instead of making only money.
Shame on the GoP for selling weapons to a regime currently involved in the genocide of other human beings, specifically the Rohingya Muslims. It is established fact the Burmese military is involved in this genocide, we should not be honouring any deal with them, given these conditions.
Don't delete my posts, if you are man enough refute them.
- This is the Pakistani airforce forum.
- This topic is about the sale of a weapons system to another country.
- My post expresses concern at the sale
- The reason for the concern is the chance that these weapons might be used in the genocide of the Rohingya Muslims.
- These types of reasons have been raised around arms sales worldwide. It is a valid concern to have and to express, it is not trolling nor is it off topic.
Other examples where this kind of concern has been raised both on this forum and across the international media include;
- Sale of British arms to Saudi (used against Yemen)
- Potential sale of Gripen by Sweden to Pakistan
- Famously the USA refused to sell us paid for F-16's due to politics
- UK sales of military equipment to Bahrain and Venezuela
- Canadian sales of equipment to Saudi Arabia
- Denmark-Israel weapons deal
- Even the Israeli's are discussing the ethics of selling weapons to Burma
Sir,
1st and final point is Pakistan is not the only stake holder please don't forget China. Further to add China is the big ally of Myanmar. The order was signed way before current hostilities began. Pakistan may play positive role not only through China but directly raising issue with Myanmar Govt. The social issues may be resolved socially.
The funny thing is we still lack a capable FM who can use delicacies of foreign affairs for benefit of country and Islam. We cannot effectively raise issue of Kashmir how can we resolve Rohingiya issue by just cancelling a few jets contract.
Please enlighten apart from Turkey and Pakistan how many Muslim countries have shown serious concerns or cancelled any deals with Myanmar.
The champions of Islam i.e Iran and KSA are already quite busy in their sectarian wars how we may blame a naive country like Pakistan for not doing any thing.
The fact is there is no Ummah and we should accept this fact. KSA giving Moodi highest Country Award, UAE royalties hugging Indians, Irani's going for economic agreements with India worth billions of dollars and here we are only criticizing our own country to show our Manhood.
Please accept bitter realities of today and try to strengthen our country as it is claimed by many as Fort of Islam.
