Good news. JF-17 is finally coming of age. In a few years all of our fighter planes will be Pakistani made. That will be another proud moment for us.

This one is at masroor airbase on 6th sep
One of the last block 1, plus it has no squadron markings, so most likely it belongs to No. 2 and will get its marking soon
This also confirms that the squadron is equipped with block 1 and not block 2 as some of the members are talking about it.

PAF Masroor has a bird strike problem. Urbanization has encroached too near to the base, and the damage to PAF jets is costing alot to PAF and has cost several crashes as well. I've heard from several sources that PAF will eventually relocate the base and has already selected a new location which has some added strategic advantages as well. Its now a matter of when whether than if.


China has converted F-6/7s into UAVs for use as air defence decoys and cruise missiles. Hope PAF initiates a similar program for its phased out jets.

The cost of relocating will be too much i doubt the relocation would happen anytime soon.

16 JF-17 a year is a joke we need to increase our production rate to 25 at least and also ask China to produce two squadrons for us each year. We need to replace our Jets at much faster rate.

True that their time is long gone and these birds can not be converted as they has surpass their frame design and up gradation limits already but F-7 PG (MG) is one of the most modern F-7 variant and these are old as well and now going to be replaced phase wise with JFT soon In Sha ALLAH!

Well, as you said our economy is growing, I didn't see any growth in our budget.

As per Aircheif, we are producing 18 units a year and a new target of 24 units a year is next milestone. I had shared a video interview sometime ago where it was mentioned.

so my opinion would be -- that Russia, is neglecting India as of now ( dealings with pakistan etc.) however, it's not yet ready to divorce India yet ... however keeping an optimist view of the future, I do think that Russians in the near/mid future will lean on China/Pakistan more ... because of the fact that it will be their economic life line ..

No country would terminate its terms with a previous partner because it has new terms with a country enemy to the previous partner. USA is still selling is while its major focus is towards India. Same is going to happen with India-Russia-Pakistan relationship.

@fatman17 Sir Jee Seating in JFT is quite low positioned just like Russian fighters whereas in western fighters pilot position is pretty much higher as we can see below shoulders of pilot from canopy in a western aircraft. Can somehow this position affect the timing of ejection in emergency situations ?? and during combat situation what about the view pilot get ??
