It is all about patience as if one wants to get everything to be told like A, B & there comes C,.....

Maybe it's to do with some serious improvement in the Sensors and EW suites for the Block-3 and/or perhaps the induction of a "C" variant of another fighter as well ... who knows for sure?

I think, brother @The Eagle has divulged all he is going to divulge. He has asked us to be patient for the news to come out.

Shooting down 12 aircraft would invite an Indian invasion which the Pak army at the time could not handle (and I doubt today's Pak army can handle it for very long either). Hell, even with 2 aircracft down, the army began preparing for an all out war.

PAF only considered 2 fires of AMRAAMs that had a confirmed kill chance.

fear of invasion as reason not to shoot down more is flawed and misunderstood.
armies live to fight.
if india had guts it would've invaded after 2 jets were shot down.

yes domestic pressure or expectations do play a little part but they don't drive peace or war. such act is driven from doctrines and policies drawfted over time after a lot of debate.

that is absolutely true. India spinned a botched strike and return of pilot as a victory and Modi got himself elected.

With that amount of loss it would have retilated simply due to domestic pressure

Late = Late , this program is running 5 year too slow , the focus between 2015-2020 should have been on Azm Program , instead we are still waiting for a BLOCK 3

Regardless of political drama, domestic pressure and media jingoism on 27 feb Pakistan military deterrence was validated as Indians backed off from further escalating the situation at that time. From their ongoing military acquisitions, next time they may have confidence to escalate the situation.

For the upcoming block-3 i am sure that the military planners will not put all their eggs in one basket. New mobile artillery systems are already being tested to reduce reliance on air assets for conducting deep strikes and setting bait for hunting.

Each new Block is expected to go into production after 5-7 years.

In this case, after 6-7 years:
Block 1 - 2007
Block 2 - 2015
Block 3 - 2021

Please DO NOT underestimate the Indians !! The situation we are in is frankly PAF's own creation! On Feb 27, PAF had the opportunity to sink IAF for at least a decade by shooting down ALL the 12-jets which were on their lock. But they decided NOT to do it. PAF has given indians TIME TO REDEME THEMSELVES !! A huge mistake by PAF I have to say !!
Just imagine if PAF would have shot down MKIs, Mirage-2000s, Migs, etc. It would have psychological and technically devastated the IAF !! But PAF leadership CHOOSE THE EASY path. Youtube videos self-praising and blabbering on like this, are NOT going to change the ground realities.

Let's agree to disagree.. Say you are right then what next after shooting down 10 aircrafts. Do you think Indians would have settled down with their losses. It's a big No. The stakes were high for both sides. The decision for not taking down was right keeping in view the bigger picture. We on all fronts were not prepared for war specially politically and economically. What was initial response of international community. What to talk of USA and west Even our best buddies KSA and UAE were in bed with Indians. War is not fought and won only with motivated and well trained slodiers. You need to have all required resourced including support from your friends. So cut this rubbish talk. The response was measured and well directed. It saved the day for the nation and a country seven time smaller mowed down the bully.
