Former White House senior adviser Jared Kushner and his deputy, Avi Berkowitz, were nominated on Sunday for the Nobel Peace Prize for their work on Middle East peace.

The pair were recognized for four normalization deals between Israel and Arab nations known as the 'Abraham Accords.'

They were nominated by lawyer Alan Dershowitz, who was eligible to do so in his capacity as a professor emeritus of Harvard Law School.

Kushner said in a statement he was honored to be nominated for the prize.

President Joe Biden's administration is expected to review all national security deals reached during the Trump administration, including arms packages for the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

There have been some complaints from lawmakers about the Morocco deal because to get Morocco to agree to it, the United States recognized Morocco's sovereignty over the disputed Western Sahara region.

Trump left office on January 20 under a cloud of controversy, potentially impacting whether the pair of aides would be awarded the Nobel.

There are few barriers to being nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize: actually winning is a far tougher challenge.

Any member of parliament of government or university professor, plus directors of foreign policy institutes, past recipients of a Nobel Prize and members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee can nominate a person or organization.

The nominations require no invitation and as long they are entered before February 1 of the qualifying year, they will be accepted.

Why isn't trump nominated for nobel prize for brokering peace between USA and north korea :cheesy: 0:45

If it wasn't for the insurrection, Trump would've gotten a peace prize. Abraham accords is a legacy deal with a far-reaching consequence for the peace process in the Middle East.

such peace can also be observed in graveyards as well.

regards

If you take a graveyard as a peaceful place then sure it will have far reaching results. Arabs will all be murdered, and that we know very well.

OP
ah ok, didn't read the thing. Indeed, Dershowitz is a shady guy.

The Abraham accords are pretty historic though, someone deserves some kind of peace award for them.

Right after BlackLivesMatter and the World Health Organization.

If it wasn't for the UK, there wouldn't be an Israel and Ottomans would still be ruling those regions. It is a graveyard, and what do you expect when a bunch of foreign nations gang up to end you? You fight back. Israel earned their place by fighting a collective group of Arabs (& South Asians), the war ended and people should move on. That's exactly what the Arabs are doing. Nobody is going to slaughter them, they don't want to fight more wars in the name of Palestine cause. Fossil fuels are not for long, and some Arab leaders are very young, so they will have to watch their country going from richness to poverty, their option is to get maximum of what they can to sustain it with today's oil money. That's why smaller countries like UAE started giving citizenship, KSA is shifting from its traditions, Israel is providing them with technologies to "live in the desert successfully".

Muslim countries like Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia will not face much consequence from food shortage or resource scarcity anytime soon. So, it's pointless to blame Arabs for it.

And, it's not quite possible to undo Israel now, there is no question of western powers doing anything that they didn't do in the last 70+ years most of all they have US backing, much like Arabs. Sunni Shia conflict isn't helping the Palestinian cause either. You can allege Israel is killing Palestine and hope for western or eastern powers like Russia or China to act on it, but they only want to make money and they have skeletons in their closet too and would happily give lip service when it benefits them.

Abraham accord was signed both by Israel and Arab states willingly. Nobody forced them to it, they simply chose their nation over some other.

As for Assam and Sikkim or Arunachal, they don't even like each other, lest they like Chinese. China can wish anything under the sun. It will not happen even after you place dead Xi in a glasshouse with Mao.
No force?
Without force, how come Israel take land from Arab?
Without force, how come Gaza and Kashmiris are locked down in the hell?
Without force, how come Israel win the damn war with Arab?
Without force, how come 500 millions Arab fear 10 millions Jews?
Without force, how come Israel bombed Syria, but Syria dare not to bomb back?
Without force, how come west backed ISIS destroyed Iraq, and Syria?
Without force, how come Pakistan can keep half of Kashmir while India can bark daily only on TV and twitter 24*7?

The fcuking world order is backed by the damn force, the god damn pecking order.
