Here's a more realistic source:

Salary Survey in Japan| Salary Comparison

Average Japanese monthly salary is around 474,000 JPY. And our unemployment rate is at a steady 3.5%.

Not bad.

Btw, your reference is from a blog. How is South Korea higher than Japan ? Standard of living in Korea and wages are substantially lower than Japan. That is a fact.

Japan is the third: 220K Yen

No way Japanese people make this. This is considered "deep poverty" level. This is the amount say, domestic workers make. But Japanese professionals? LOL.

Come on.

note Youth

Youth wages are usually lower than older people's wages in very advanced developed countries, but higher than older people's wages in developing countries and newly developed countries.

You don't pay HIGH TAXES like Singaporeans :|

I hate it when people say Singaporeans earn a lot. A screwed up 2009 Suzuki costs 86,000 SGD in Singapore.

Precisely. Its like comparing a college lecturer's salary to an Associate Professor's. lol.

Well, Singapore is a special case, dude. Your entire population is literally 1/25th the size of Japan's. The reason why price of commodities and cost of living is so high in your country is due a comprehensive effect of currency appreciation, price inflation.

This is for youth. As in adolescents, late teens. The fact that the 'youth' are still able to make aorund $2000 (US Dollars) a month --- this goes to their wallets for personal use. Most Japanese youth also live at home, meaning they don't really pay for rent. Food is provided for. So what they "earn" goes to personal use or savings.

Again, there's no comparison of Singapore to Japan. Japan is a $5 Trillion economy, 3rd largest in the world. Singapore is minor.

.
Youth salary shows a convergence between China and Japan's living standards.
I think within a generation, Chinese and Japanese wages will be much more similiar (Maybe Japan 2x as much instead of 6x as much).

.
India it is 350k per annum in rupees for IT employees !
