As for hypersonics, the US has already demonstrated an intermediate range 4,000km HGV with likely ICBM range, that can strike within 6in of its target at Mch 17. That HGV will deploy with the Army in 2023 and on SSGNs in 2025. The US Air Force will also deploy the 1,000 mile hypersonic ARRW in 2022 on board its bombers. As for hypersonic cruise missiles, large investments are being made. From a tech standpoint the US is ahead in hypersonics. Ive seen nothing from China that can strike with the range and accuracy as the 4,000km HGV above..

The only reason the US doesnt have a ballistic missile inventory is due to the INF Treaty.

Unless he is in the know and consulting with the U.S. military, he hasn't realize the U.S. Navy is still building more ships, Marines and Army are planning to obtain IRBMs and long range land and anti ship missiles, USAF planning hypersonic missiles, pretty much what it is to handle against China. As I have told a Chinese poster on the issue of possible conflict over Taiwan, China has about 10 years to do something about it before the window closes once the U.S. has deployed these weapons to counter any threat China has.

It’s also important to note the DOD used an earlier variant of this same HGV in a 2014 test from Kodiak Island Alaska flying to the same site in the Kwajalein Atoll. After launch, there was an anomaly in the booster so it had to abort. The important thing here is the DOD believes this HGV can fly at ICBM ranges in the Mach 20s within extreme accuracy.

China got 3000++ of Mach 3s YJ-12 and YJ18 to throw against the 11 carriers USA want to bring to their self declared FONOP.
