Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has been invited by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who asked for a joint effort against terrorism.

Abe appreciated Iran’s efforts to reach the agreement as he stressed on the importance of its proper implementation, Press TV reported. The Japanese PM, while pointing towards the political unrest in the Middle East, called for further cooperation between the two countries to fight terrorist organizations, especially Islamic State.

Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, is presently on a state visit to Tokyo. Salehi appreciated Japan’s support during the nuclear deal negotiations between Iran and six world powers. The support eventually led to the realization of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

“The IAEA will announce its evaluation of Iran’s peaceful nuclear program by December 15, and we predict that the Implementation Day would be in late-December,” Tasnim News quoted Salehi as saying.

The Iranian official welcomed Japan’s contribution in establishing a nuclear safety center in the Middle Eastern country. He referred to a joint nuclear statement issued by Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Salehi invited Abe to Iran as he asked for the expansion of bilateral trade and economic relations between Japan and Iran. He stressed on the development of further bilateral cooperation on shared production and marketing.

Iran suffered sanctions due to its nuclear energy program. Tehran managed to reach an agreement with Russia, China, Britain, France, Germany and the United States in July. As a result, financial sanctions against the Islamic republic will eventually be lifted.

We are mobilized and ready. Personally speaking, Yes. I believe Japan should deploy the 1st Escort Fleet and initiate strategic strikes on ISIS targets. Secondly, the JSFG (Japan special forces group) should be sent in with American , French and Russian special forces group to take out key targets, retake key areas. And lead a campaign and morale boost for the Peshmerga and the Iraqi Army.

Naturally I would like to see JSDF and the PLA work together here. An opportunity for extra-hemispherical confidence building measures.

But you know there will be a backlash from ISIS and their supporters ?
Air strikes are already been conducted by Russian , US , France and now reports are coming that Belgium will join too .
i think its time to move inside the ISIS territory but it can lead to two possible results ..

1. they will be neutralize permanently but with a bloody battles on almost every single town or City ..
2. they will use this attack as attack on Religion to sell their propaganda to recruit more fighters throughout the world .

in both cases world should be prepared ..

but i doubt that Russian will work with US and its Allies , cause US is actually funding the anti Assad rebel in the region , and Russian are there to protect Assad ..
but what i personally believe that World must create a Alliance against ISIS , bring the Arab forces like KSA , UAE , Egypt on board and launch a massive assault on ISIS, and from the other side Iran can advance into Iraq ..

i doubt this will happen but you never know ..

.
Should the occasion arise that the JASDF is deployed to the Middle East I hope it will diligently hit the jihadists in a similar pace the Russian Air Force is doing right now. It is also likely imho that Japan will supply arms and train Iraqi and Kurdish (no reason to become furious, Turkey ;) ) forces in the region.

Airstrikes are no long-term solution to the Syrian/Iraqi question though. In case of a military intervention Japan will have to take part in finding a roadmap to a long-lasting peace as well.

.
While Japan would jump at the chance of deploying troop in the Middle East, US would veto any Japanese effort in coordinating with either Iran or Syria in any such deployment. And of course without the consent of the Syrian government, Japan can't deploy troops there. The best bet would be an agreement with Iraq to get a foot back into the door.

Iran is definitely one of the "true" and "sincere” partners to work with with respect to the question of "terrorism in Syria & Iraq" -- not merely terrorism of ISIS, as Western media likes to portray.

The other partner to work with is definitely Russia, which are doing the world a very big favor at the moment.

Exactly. Japan should not fall into the trap of hating ISIS to the point of loving "moderate terrorists" which are in fact nothing but extensions of Al Qaeda, Nusra and other extremists with leaderships clad in suits and nestled in luxury hotels in Istanbul and Dubai.

Japan is one one of the best countries to fight against IS because they have less muslims and almost zero extremists.
Most terror groups that threatened Japan are either Communists or Mad cultists

to some extent i agree with your point ..

While Japan would jump at the chance of deploying troop in the Middle East, US would veto any Japanese effort

If it were not for U.S. 'strategic interests', more and more Nations would be combating ISIS more effectively - Hell, The U.S even wants to veto any Russian action against ISIS in the pretext of Assad. Anyway, with passing time, more and more Nations are looking up to Russia and Iran; for the world knows isn't ignorant of U.S' seriousness against ISIS.

. .
I say deploy the JGSDF. Let our Samurais be let loose on ISIS fighters. Show them the meaning of cries of death....

Good initiative. :enjoy:

I'd prefer China to stay out though, we need to become a developed country first before worrying about such things.
