No. My Dear. Most don't think like that. An attack on Indian Muslims would, in fact, be a direct attack on Pakistan. And, I don't think that these RSS goons are going to do that. It would have extremely disastrous implications for India, as a state, and these Sanghis and Bhakts, very well, know it. They just want to keep Indian Muslims deprived and degraded; as they have been doing since 1947. Any mass scale attack on Muslims is out of question, in my view; since it would lead to an all out war between India and Pakistan, which may lead to total de-recognition of the boundaries, established in 1947. Pain of Indian Muslims is not at all a pleasure for Pakistanis; irrespective of what some of the Pakistani posters say on this PDF.

Many Indian muslims are still hopeful and believe in institutions here. But if all else fails and if a civil war does happen, it will be fought amidst us. There will be women and children. No safe hiding/protection for them. Indian muslims aren't concentrated in one particular geography, they are a scattered lot and have always suffered in the face of three throng attack, i.e. Marauding mobs, Police and sometimes the Army. Anyways let's see what the future has in store for us..

Muslims of India are in themselves a power to reckon with and these extremist Hindus would not go beyond a certain limit to harm them. Since, they very well know that if unleashed, they would not be able to control the insurgency, which may result from such actions. These elite Hindus are only testing the waters, nothing more.

What is the % of muslims in police?

I did a quick search.

There is this article from 2012 ( when the Congress was in national government :

The Union Home Ministry wanted senior Muslim officers posted at the police stations in charge of areas where a large number of the community's members live.

But the problem is that there just aren't enough Muslim policemen in India.

Latest data with the ministry shows that there are just 1.08 lakh Muslim officers in the 16.6-lakh police force of the country. This means the representation of Muslims in the force is just over 6 per cent.

The data also shows that of the 1.08 lakh Muslim officers in India, almost half (46,250) are serving in Jammu and Kashmir alone.

Hence, keeping Jammu and Kashmir aside, the representation of Muslims in the force is as low as 4 per cent.
