PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen is returning to Pakistan after seven months.

He announced his return on Thursday but failed to give a concrete date for his flight. He just said it would be this month.
He said he went abroad for medical treatment.

The PTI leader was disqualified from holding public office on January 30, 2018 but remained a senior member of the party. Recently, he was embroiled in the sugar price hike case when it was revealed in an official report that his JDW Mills benefitted greatly from sugar subsidies.
His mills made Rs200 billion in three years.

The JDW Sugar Mills comprise of three units, two of which are located in Rahim Yar Khan in south Punjab and one is located in Ghotki, Sindh. It accounts for 17% of the country’s total sugar product.

PTI’s Jahangir Tareen returns home after seven months

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen on Friday returned to Pakistan after receiving treatment in the United Kingdom (UK), ARY News reported.

According to the details, Jahangir Khan Tareen arrived at the Allama Iqbal International Airport early morning today via a foreign airlines’ flight. He returned home after seven months stay in Hampshire county, UK.

Talking to journalists at the airport, the PTI leader said that he went abroad for medical treatment. He maintained that it was not necessary to respond to every allegation hurled by the opposition.

Jahangir Tareen said that his business was fair and transparent, adding that he has never been involved in any wrongdoing.


Earlier on November 5, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Jahangir Tareen had announced to return back to Pakistan that month.

According to sources, the former PTI general secretary had said that he went abroad for medical treatment and will arrive in Pakistan this month. However, the PTI leader had not confirm the date of his return.
It may be noted that Tareen had reached London around seven months ago immediately after the publication of the Sugar Commission report.

In August 202, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had launched an investigation into money laundering charges against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Jahangir Tareen’s JWD Group.

I actually know him, his family really well and how he rose the ladders

He does come from an Upper Middle Class family, that's why he was able to go to the US to get his MBA. But his start and the real wealth he built is when he married the sister of Ahmad Mehmood. That itself was his initiative as he pursued her relentlessly. Once married to her, he basically was able to convince Ahmad Mehmood to fund his business ventures which turned out to be quite good. Thus, marrying the right family pays handsome dividends sometimes

Yes but I would be quite happy for anyone who legally built a wealth even by marriage ..but I think we know how he misuse authority in musharaf time ..being guilty of insider trading and then how he laundered a money in London on his servants name... Sometime I believe all the elite of Pakistan is corrupt one way or another

Yes but I would be quite happy for anyone who legally built a wealth even by marriage ..but I think we know how he misuse authority in musharaf time ..being guilty of insider trading and then how he laundered a money in London on his servants name... Sometime I believe all the elite of Pakistan is corrupt one way or another

I agree, he definitely misused his authority and also engaged in multiple strategies to avoid paying taxes. Not sure if that was tax evasion or maybe we could bucket this into tax avoidance.

But he did not engage in siphoning public money like Nawaz Sharif and Zardari.
