J-31 possibly being tested & evaluated in Pakistan

why are you comparing f16 with f5. 1 is medium weight and latter is light. j31 won't come that way . first or engineers will also get involved
you didnt got my point
f-5 was desing only for exports, end up as a failure
f-16 a joint venture end up as a sucess
j-31 is great fighter but in long run it would be a success only if inducted in numbers and if continued R&D

u are right. This project wont recieve any international orders before 2025...even arab countries wont..but when time comes , this will be hot cake

Well if the prototype of the revised J-31 (being coined as v2.0) flies before the end of 2016 and the new specs are what being expected/claimed by some of our enthusiastic posters ... then definitely a very good development.

Now I am skeptical about the time frame for induction into the PAF that is being claimed by certain posters. Now even if the first prototype (the previous one just a tech demonstrator) makes its first flight in december this year ... there are hundreds of tests and thousands of parameters that need to be validated and verified. These tests are not all done on one prototype but at least on 3 or 4 or more. When all these parameters and subsystems are tested and verified ... then SBP is initiated. The actual squadron pilots (and not test or senior pilots) test and evaluate the plane before clearing it for full serial production.

Can somebody tell me whether all of the above can be done within 1.3 to 2.0 years of the first flight in December? Remember, the JF-17 made its first flight in 2003 and got IOC in 2007 and our economy was much better back then.

According to certain reports on chinese forums , 2 FC-31 v2.0 prototypes are being made. And many say that they have seen v1 flying many times almost every 4th,5th week which indicates that secretly the tests are being performed. Now i am also getting a feeling that v2 is not carrier borne jet as its wings arent foldable according to CGIs and the model displayed in zhuhai we saw. So that means V1 wont also be kept completely out rather it would be brought back on line when PLAN has plans to acquire J-31. As for the timeframe , u are right . This video uses wikipedia as source which is stupid. I know this person . He makes videos to make stupid people happy rather telling them the real things and educating them with tech. I would say that till 2018 end , this jet would be combat ready

It seems Mr. @Zarvan or Mr. @MastanKhan created wikipedia account recently and updated the article about PAF inventory of air crafts.

F-5 ended up with tons of exports and still is being flown by a number of countries today.

FC-20 , SU-30 , EF-2000 and now J-31 testing in Pakistan...and dont know what tanks and other things .. lol seems to be a good hobby on this forum now a days...

All you need to do is start a thread and bingo ..fan boys go crazy... and you got your time pass ...

Seems like everyone has chacha mama or taya in defence forces ..who some how get the information regarding all the plans and pass on to arm chair generals who then start a thread saying my internal source has said this n that ...and there will always be some fan boys seconding that with their own sources ...

Salute to all those with their so called "references"

So fan boys now we have 36 FC-20s , 40 Su-35 , Unknown number of EF-2000 and now this J-31 ...wooow soon we will also have a thread stating Donald trump has done a secret deal to supply f-22 raptors to Pakistan , which is the reason he said "i love Pakistan" that basically was the hint he wanted to give !!! Bravo ... keep going...

I think its test flights are continuing since long by Chinese. So IMHO we won't have to start from scratch.

First proto has been ready since 2012 so 4 years have passed..add another3 years...thats enough testing..the major problem even now is maybe yes or not that WS-13e is not completely mature

If You See the History of Pakistan Armed Forces ,
Mostly Pakistan has always been the first to Introduce Modern , or Newer weapon systems which weren't in region ,
Submarine , F 104 , and many other Systems

Now i see Same thing Happening But The time Frame 2017 is too early
I will give it around 2019 and after 2020 , In the mean time Pakistan will have the time to develop Thunder Block 3

And Pakistan needs to Develop there Ariel industry and also with help of Some Private defence industry which will Help Pakistan and Regional Friendly countries

Because yes Thunder is a really Good Platform but What Will be The Next Step , Because lets Just says Pakistan Get
200 Thunders , and No other Country orders it What will the next Step , yes a 5th Gen Bird but Problem is Pakistan wont go for hundreds of these birds Few Squads and Thats it , Pakistan and China Need To Develop other newer birds to and Pakistan needs to develop its industry to it can be taken a serious and capable developer in the world

Israel , Sweden are the best Examples
I do not agree to some extent that Pak introduce new weapons where are we have none 4 gen jets

U may be new in this military stuff bro..welcome....pak has F16s which are all 4 and 4+ gen jets and thunders which are 4 gen jets and very soon will be counted as 4.5th gen...as for ur comments of introduction let me make it clear that india started this game with the purchase of rafale so paf has no option but to go for this cost effective solution
