Its "Made in India" : BEML's Biggest Dump Tuck ( 2300 HP Engine )

Two of the very interesting innovative and indigenous technologies integrated into this platform are the Automotive Unified Electronic Controller (AUEC) and Unified Electronic Controller (UEC)

AUEC is a device with GPS technology which can truthfully convey various data, including the load carried by the vehicle and its exact location, to a technician sitting elsewhere. Rear dump trucks often have to trudge many kilometres over mines or ores, several times in a day. Monitoring the functioning of these vehicles which can carry loads as heavy as 100 tonnes becomes a lot more easy with the AUEC. If a vehicle has more than its permissible load, the controller ensures that it doesn’t move until the problem is rectified. If it is way below its load, an operator can diagnose the under utilisation and tell the driver how to efficiently use the truck. Moreover, if there are glitches, technicians can easily do a diagnosis, while sitting snug in a far-off control room. The device also stores data regarding vehicle use patterns. So, if the driver is going wrong somewhere, the technician just needs to go through the data to identify what needs to be corrected and train the driver.

A simpler version of the controller was supplied to BEML 10 years ago. BEML has returned to the R&D facility satisfied with its experience of using the Unified Electronic Controller (UEC), the predecessor of the AUEC.

Before the UEC, the BEML had to rely on different controllers each with its distinctive function - automated gear transmission, payload monitoring, equipment health monitoring and hoist control. The UEC unified all the functions and included safety locks. For example, the hoist control will ensure that the hoist does not work while the vehicle is in motion, even if the driver accidentally sendsthe hoist command. The AUEC has been sounded off in various trials at the BEML. Currently its real time performance is being monitored. The response from the BEML has been positive. :cheers:

@Srinivas Your stuff - VLSI & Embedded Systems :)

I am pretty sure the engine in this thing is imported somewhere from Europe or US and so are most of the parts. Can someone give more details???

Supplied by Indian Subsidiary of US based Cummins Engine Company but manufactured in India! :tup:

BEML very recently launched their biggest ‘Made-in-India’ electrical excavator BE1800E for large mining operations as well! :partay:

Yes they have integrated all the functions on to a single controller, which will save power and space on the board, also improves the performance. Some nice steps in this direction. :tup:

It is patented as well

However we can do much better in this field, the talent is there :tup:

For a comparison, one of the most used locomotive on IR WDM 2 class is rated at 2,650 HP and this truck alone is close to that mark, tells you the beast it is.

Great! Pretty sure its successor the Automotive Unified Electronic Controller (AUEC) will be successful as well...

AUEC's should also be integrated on heavy construction machinery platforms deployed near border areas in the North - where services and repairs aren't possible frequently.

U call it indigenous it is copy of catterpiller much sharam Karo koi itna bhi chutiya nahe ha yahan

Oho Bhai upar sent Indian Saree phenabe sent neecha ka maal change nahe hora haha still engine gear box etc all are caterpillar and at ka maal cat ka lagake him bhi 2 dinon main indigenous mining truck nikal sakte gain air Bhai apki mehrbani caterpillar bhot khuch hoga ka made in India surf bhar sent hai andar se made in caterpillar of USA ha khush ho jao wesa bhi phele Russia Ne ullo banaye aur ab usa

Arre tumhare paas proof nahi hai to baat kai ko karta hai!! Kuch to apne mulk ke oopar soch, jo ek dhang ka motorcyle tak nahi bana sakta, mining truck ki khwab kyo rakhta hai!! India bana sakta hai! aur bana raha hai! Tere paas proof hai, to prove kar!

Dump truck caterpillar ka ho ya BEML ka, in the end A DUMP TRUCK WILL LOOK LIKE A DUMP TRUCK. What do you think, we'll design it like a daisy flower to make it look original or what?
