It is in best interest of Pakistan to come clean on terror: Germany

In a plain message, Germany on Saturday said it was in the best "interest" of Pakistan to "come clean" of any allegations and clarify the "clear distinction between state institutions and any terrorist acts" amid recent indications of its involvement in such activities.

Maintaining that it does not "matter" whether the recent indications of Pakistan's involvement in terrorists acts were true or not in a judicial way, new German Ambassador to India, Michael Steiner, said "it is in the well-understood best interest of Pakistan, whether it is true or not, to become clean of any rumours and allegations and to really clarify that there is a clear distinction between state institutions and any terrorist acts."

He was responding to a question on recent revelations made by arrested LeT operative Abu Jundal who handled those involved in Mumbai 26/11 terror strikes.

Jundal had disclosed that he, along with LeT founder Hafiz Saeed, was in the control room in Pakistan during 26/11 Mumbai carnage in 2008 in which 166 people were killed.

"There are some indications, not really proven in a judicial way, but it doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter how far they are true or not. I think it is in the interest of Pakistan to make it clear that the policies are policies which have no links, whatsoever, with these forces which are directed against us all and are also directed against legal institutions of Pakistan itself. That is the real danger for Pakistan," he added.

Significantly, before taking up posting in Delhi, Steiner was Germany's Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Steiner, who also organised the Bonn conference on Afghanistan last year, talked about international community's commitment to the war-torn country after the withdrawal of NATO combat forces by 2014.

It is in best interest of Pak to come clean on terror: Germany

is the german embassador to india or pakistan, germany should shut the hell up in indo pak matters, its non of their business, or ask india to point credible evidence insted of fake evidences, fake names, fake list

or go to UN if pakistan is not looking up to their so called evidence

German Ambassador to India

Say's it all

First of all , Nazis days are gone.

Secondly its called diplomatic maneuvers, to strengthen ties with India not only for strategic but for economic purposes.

Thirdly, its in Germany's interest to enter in Indian Defense and other markets.

Fourth, Its about gaining orders and attracting investment from India in Germany, as the tide has changed.

Fifth and most important one, no country will favor Pakistan over India except China. If times call for it, they will remain neutral at best.
Its easy to blame Pakistan for terrorism than having bad relations with India.

Its nothing personal (emotional), just strictly business.

This Ambassador is of no relevance and importance to Pakistan and his ignorant and foolish statements should be addressed by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry. A complaint should also be filed to Berlin to tame it's new Ambassador to the vile land called Hindustan. Hopefully, German Ambassadors won't make this same mistake again, such remarks are counter-productive to peace in the region.

Whatever evidence India gives....will become propaganda and fake for Pakistan....just a waste of time nothing else....

While India looks for allies or "partners" thousands of miles away it makes enemies at it's border, enemies with both Pakistan and China who combined can wreak havoc and destruction on this country. India really needs to stop it's malicious behavior towards it's neighbors, not Germany, Britain, Israel, Vietnam, etc are going to come to your rescue when both Pakistan and China are crushing your skulls and systematically slaughtering your armed forces. Though, of course you don't understand that and you don't understand how ill-prepared you are.

Countries in the region should diplomatically solve regional issues among themselves.

German ambassador to India Michael Steiner is 'day dreaming'. His expectation from Pakistan to come out clean from terrorism is nothing but a dream. Even in our dreams also we won't experience that feeling. Do we?

It's fine he did his job and kept Indian heart's warm. Pakistan has nothing to worry about it.

What's funny is that every Tom, Dick and Panetta comes to India and takes a potshot at Pakistan.. Then begins the comic sequence of Pakistan making diplomatic noises against that and sometimes demanding an apology :)... a few weeks later the offending country offers an olive branch to Pakistan which Pakistan accepts and PDF members proclaim victory.. Till the next potshot.. and the sequence continues its infinite loop

Okay basically all he said was to come clarify the "rumors"

He didn't accuse Pakistan on anything, but then indian new papers are reporting this so we're going to see a joke headline.

Exactly, his actual statement simply said he wants Pakistan to simply set the record straight about what is going on. He didn't make any accusations, but the Hind media has spun the story, they are becoming too predictable.

now tell me a story
