ISRO Tests India's Largest Cryogenic Engine For 400-Ton Rocket

The launch cost of super heavy falcon will be around USD 90m. It would have 22,200 kg of gto payload capacity. Basic math says usd 4054/KG of launch cost.

Falcon 9 FT cost $62 million for 5.5 tonnes to GTO.

I guess spaceX's current estimate for its falcon heavy launch vehicle is USD3950/KG

Yeah, a lot of their development costs were borne by NASA during the cold war :D. Its not really any massive inherent crazy efficiency they have stumbled upon overall :P...though I appreciate the way they have operationalised this, unlocked and promoted it.

It will help to drive down costs worldwide.

This needs to brought down to usd 1600/kg for us to be a viable space faring civilization ! ( Not sure of the source for this but I heard Elon Musk talking about the numbers in a published interview )

Ever heard of Bellatrix Aerospace?

Don't act like a teenage kid. Even your article points to 22,200 KG performance of Falcon heavy. The 8T probably will be the first payload weight !

Dude, reusability. 22 tonne to GTO is the payload for expendable version.

The payload varies with the number of boosters meant to be recovered.

Where I basically see this netting out is Falcon 9 will do satellites up to roughly 3.5 tonnes, with full reusability of the boost stage, and Falcon Heavy will do satellites up to 7 tonnes with full reusability of the all three boost stages

I meant they went ahead with research of SCE first.....!!

China had its first cryogenic engine YF-73 in 1987, long before its current generation of semi-cryogenic engine YF-100 (2015) and cryogenic engines YF-77 (2016). They have used YF-73 from 1980's to 2000's, replaced it with the newer cryogenic engine YF-75 in 1994.
